[Daily Mail Photo] Sale of ‘Magnum P.I.’ Home May Be Tied to President Obama

One of Hawaii’s best-known homes was sold this week.

The stunning three-acre oceanfront parcel along Waimanalo Beach was made famous in the “Magnum P.I.” television series, but who might spend time there next may give it even more notoriety.

The sale at 41-505 Kalanianaole Highway is shrouded in a bit of mystery, but it could involve a very famous future visitor when he’s not at the White House.

The property traded hands in a sale that recorded Monday.

The talk of the neighborhood so far is that the purchase is affiliated with President Barack Obama, so we looked into it.

“People on the beach here think it’s Obama, and some people like me are thrilled at the prospect,” said Lee Siegel, who owns a neighboring home. “It’s wonderful. My dog there can’t wait to play with Bo.”

“I think the people who are kind of negatively concerned are worried that security is going to somehow impede or interfere with their life here in Waimanalo. It’s going to put Waimanalo on the map, that’s for sure,” Siegel added.

Listing agent Mary Worrall sold the home for $8.7 million on behalf of the same ohana that had owned it since the 1930s when it was built.

She said everyone in the transaction had to sign confidentiality agreements, so nothing further could be disclosed about who is buying it and what plans are for the house.

Always Investigating reviewed the deed and mortgage and found the buyer is an LLC called Waimanalo Paradise, set up just last month, whose mailing address and contact is Obama donor and Chicago lawyer Seth Madorsky.

The deed and the mortgage are signed by a person with the same name, Judy Grimanis, as an executive assistant at a Chicago-based private capital firm run by Obama’s longtime friend and frequent Hawaii golf and travel partner Marty Nesbitt. It is also the same name of a person who worked for prominent Obama fundraiser Penny Pritzker’s companies.

The mortgage is held by yet another LLC set up last month, this one called Hoaloha Holdings.

The mortgage is nearly a million dollars more than the sale price, a $9.5 million note, so it would appear some major renovations could be in store for the aging property.

No comment yet from the seller or those associated with the Waimanalo Paradise or Hoaloha Holdings LLCs, nor from the White House about the First Family’s connections, if any.

Yes - but that will only be his cover. At night he travels the lava tube to his secret missle base inside the volcano as he plans to rule the world. “Bhwaa haaaa haaa haaaa.”

My mother, God rest her soul, would both be angry and saddened. "Magnum P.I." (and Hawaii Five-O) was among her favorite shows. I feel her anger and sadness already. B-( Rick, T.C. and Higgins should blockade the place. Better yet, "Zeus, Apollo!!!!"

BTW, a little trivia, when "Hawaii Five-O" went off in 1980, the CBS production crew for that show just shifted over to making "Magnum P.I."

There was a cartoon in the 1960’s about a President who was a superhero, “Super President,” IIRC.

He inherited his money from his great grandfather. Upon his death his grandmother was promoted to VP - head of the trust department of the HI bank. She was also made his legal guardian, then moved him to a penthouse and enrolled him in private school. He’s had all the priveledge of wealth his entire life

The purpose of writing the book about his African father was to keep people from investigating the millions made by his white ancestor by negotiating writing mineral leases in OK and Kansas. If anyone would investigate The company G-Grandad worked for in Tulsa I believe you’ll find it owns controlling interest in Solyndra. (Do you understand why he vetoed the pipeline?)

I thought Penny Pritzker already bought them a mansion in Hawaii ???

Or maybe The Mooch will get that one in the divorce settlement, and The Punk get this one. Or Vice Versa.

South of my studio on Oahu. He can have Waimanalo. If you find yourself in the wrong part of Waimanalo watch out. The real fun will be the locals that will love the new traffic. Traffic is horrid on the best of days. Of course the uber libs that own the beach properties will welcome Obamao which will keep the human debris they detest off their beach.

BUT, I don’t think the property is swanky enough for the Obamas. They would insist on Lani Kai or Kailua.

How about a new TV show about an ex-president who goes around solving crimes, and any other problems in the world he didn’t fix while president?

Or how about a new TV show about an ex-president who goes to the beach with his boyfriend and a Great white shark takes him out in the first episode.

Former President Bill Clinton’s 8,300-square-foot Harlem office near the Apollo Theater costs taxpayers nearly $450,000. George W. Bush spends $85,000 on telephone fees, and another $60,000 on travel. Jimmy Carter sends $15,000 worth of postage - all on the government’s dime.

The most exclusive club in the world has a similarly exclusive price tag - nearly $3.7 million, according to a new report from the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service. That’s how much the federal government spent last year on the four living ex-presidents and one presidential widow.

Topping the list in 2012 was George W. Bush, who got just over $1.3 million last year.
