SCOTT WALKER UNDER FIRE FOR NEW OPEN BORDERS AMNESTY ADVOCATE STAFFER WHO MOCKS IOWA [tr]
Breitbart ^ | March 16, 2015 | Matthew Boyle

Posted on 03/17/2015 6:56:52 AM PDT by C19fan

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker made another massive misstep on Monday, hiring Liz Mair of Mair Strategies to handle communications and social media for his campaign-in-waiting.

Mair’s support for amnesty for illegal aliens, wide-open-borders immigration policies, and public advocacy for the Senate “Gang of Eight” amnesty bill is sure to dog Walker in Iowa, South Carolina, and other early presidential states.

During the Senate Gang of Eight bill fight, Mair very publicly and very aggressively promoted the amnesty bill—pushing it to media and making the case for the need for it over and over again. She claims her advocacy was done out of the good of her heart, for free, because for religious reasons she believes in amnesty and open borders. But Mair wouldn’t answer who was paying her bills for her advocacy during the timeframe of the “Gang of Eight” bill in early 2013 through the end of the last Congress–when asked by Breitbart News if any specific tech companies or a select group of Wall Street billionaires were paying her.

I zero faith in Dauphin Bush and Rubio. This dropped my faith in Walker from 50% to 25%.

I’m for Cruz. Walker has never been an option for me, and I despise Jeb and Rubio.

Not good.

Support of any kind for amnesty is a deal breaker.

Hopefully the governor will act decisively.

This is a hit-piece by Matthew Boyle - A RAND PAUL supporter. Rand is sinking in the polls and needs to hang on in Iowa.

Here is more about Liz Mair:

Gov. Scott Walker hires GOP strategist Liz Mair team for online outreach "....The announcement is part of a hiring spree for Walker, who’s presidential campaign-in-waiting has brought on veteran strategist Rick Wiley as campaign manager and signed up former Mitt Romney strategists Danny O’Driscoll and Wells Griffith. Walker has also lined up influential activists in early-voting states such as Iowa and New Hampshire.

Mair has a history with Walker’s election machine: She led his online communication strategy during his recall election in 2012, when Democrats waged an aggressive, yet unsuccessful effort to remove Walker from office after he curbed the power of public sector unions in Wisconsin. Dan Blum, an associate with Mair’s group who also worked on the recall campaign, will also consult for the PAC. Blum, who lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, also formerly handled rapid response for Republican Sen. Rob Portman’s campaign.

During her career in political advocacy, Mair has consulted with a wide range of Republican campaigns, including possible Walker rivals: In 2008 she directed online communications for the Republican National Committee. Two years later, she led online outreach efforts for Carly Fiorinia’s Senate candidacy in California. She has also consulted with Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry."...

Scott Walker Shows How Pro-Life Presidential Candidates Can Avoid the Media’s Abortion Trap ".............In short, Scott Walker’s performance on Fox News Sunday was a brilliant example of how to handle the media when it comes to speaking about the life issue, particularly in high profile interview segments. It shows the kind of skill any pro-life candidate needs to be successful in the present anti-life media environment, and other pro-life candidates would do well to study Walker’s example. "

Dont they check these people out before they hire them? Of course I realize the left is looking for anything they can find on conservative candidates to hammer them with. Hell dont hand them the ammo...

If I could be called a one issue voter on anything, it is amnesty for illegals. The whole stinking bag of crap.

I absolutely refuse to vote for anyone that is not fully committed to securing the border and (novel thought) putting *American* citizens ahead of illegal aliens.

Makes for a pretty short list, doesn’t it? We are doomed.

This is just the left trying to drive a wedge against the person they fear the most.

Sheesh. How do they vett these people? Either way it is unsettling. Either they don't know of this foul, offensive background and are therefore lax in their due diligence background checks for inner circle campaign people (incompetence) or worse, with malice and aforethought they ARE aware of the backgrounds of these Open Borders "K Street"-type DC wonks and professional camp followers (in which case it means more of the same institutionalized beltway corruption). Not Good.

Not good at all.

Its not amnesty if they get charged a ‘fee’ like $100 before they get US citizenship.

This is BS. This woman is not in a policy making position and her personal views have nothing to do with Walkers campaign or the way he would govern. It always amazes me how people get caught up in this kind of irrelevancy.

Yup, they do check past associations and references. So there’s no way the Walker campaign wouldn’t have known about her amnest work.

There is a question of whether Walker hired her because of her amnesty work, or because she is good enough despite that work to risk a voter backlash.

There’s a third option as well: this was a tactical move to deny her skills, experience and abilities to one of the other campaigns. Building a Presidential campaign team is a lot like playing Monopoly: you don’t want to just buy properties for yourself, you want to buy properties to deny them to others. If she’s really that good, it would probably be right to hire her so she doesn’t sign on with Jeb.

I do background checks all the time. If I were doing one for a governor’s staff position one of the things I would do is check their voting records and stances on political issues (in addition to all the regular stuffcriminal history, lawsuits, judgments, bankruptcy, and liens, interviews with neighbors,, police call logs to their house, etc...)

A country without borders is not a country IMO. At this point, I don't see how I can trust Walker. He came out as pro-amnesty, then walked it back, and now this. Even if he makes a strong anti-amnesty statement, I doubt I'd believe he is doing anything other than feinting to the right to get elected.
