Why hasn’t a curfew been set in Ferguson? Nobody should be out on the streets after dark there.

Seriously? Is this a "follow the Constitution except when it seems inconvenient" opinion or did you forget the "/s" tag?

Here's your city council meeting attempting to move forward and some of their comments made as a solution...NONE address the problem and until it is all these other comments mean nothing because the council either cannot nor won't address the obvious. IMO You need a new council WITH some experience or have those brought in to show them how to do their job.

Ferguson City Council candidates speak on moving forward:

Lee Smith says she ‘wants’ Ferguson to be a better, stronger community for everybody...”I know people say black lives matter. I believe all lives matter,” Smith said.( Which means nothing until she sees black violence needs to be addressed)

Wesley Bell said...”We need a police department as part of the community and not distant from it, that's one thing as a professor of criminal justice that I've been saying for years,” ( well then if he's been saying it for years without results for his work he needs to go for obviously ...but he was really just quoting from the Obama report making it his own idea)

McClennan says ...”city officials need to make sure residents are aware of what's going on in Ferguson.”..”Actually digging out there, finding organizations and individuals and bringing them into contribute to this city,”...... (How can you expect people “out there” to dare to even want to help when the violence of the black community doesn't care to see their issues themselves....let alone contribute to a failed system of “personal responsibility” which is the problem)

Ella Jones says a professional psychologist should speak to residents at town hall meetings. She believes people are stuck in psychological and emotional ruts, making it hard for them to more forward.

“You can't have growth if the people are still hurting. How can you have people come in to help and the community is still torn apart,” Ella Jones said.....( Right, lets put a band-aide on what's broken...that’ll work...feely touchy stuff when the heart of the matter is “work” at the violence and control of and stop covering each other for those crimes)

Adrienne Hawkins says:.... “If we can get people jobs, feed their families, get them some hope, the community will definitely heal itself.”...(not a chance...what needs “healing” a none of that stuff is going to fix...the evidence proves it)

IMO that meeting was all about anything but the people and the problems they will continue to face.......your community is hurting now because nothing changes until people hurt bad enough to change what needs changing.

God speaks with a still voice in the inner man...then HE uses ‘a megaphone’ (when your inner man refuses to listen and act) by using others to nudge you.... and with time if your persistence to have your own way continues you will be met with a whirlwind of the consequences which generally increase and eventually create and cause destruction in one form or another.

EVERY black community faces this when they refuse to acknowledge and obtain the necessary tools to correct “their” culture.....at what point do you think the American people have given you every opportunity, and more than even many of them have, do you think is enough???

No other race nor culture has been given so much and done so very little with it....and that's because it's too easy to just keep taking. I for one am done giving.....

He admitted he fired the gun, but was “shooting at someone else.”

Fake, but accurate.

The leaders and citizens knew that there was trouble with so much subsidized poverty concentrated in one area.

One ALWAYS gets MORE of what they subsidize!!!

Almost all of the protesters live in 3 separate Section 8 subsidized apartment complexes in the Southeast corner of the city. A few blocks over and the world would never have heard of Ferguson.

The Israelis have 'solved' a LOT of their problems with a high wall.

I'd like to know by what quirk of fate some punk caps off several shots and scores two hits, one in the face -- with a handgun???

Depends on the SIZE of the target being shot at; doesn't it?

By my calculations, the persons participating in violence and stomping up and down are 5% or less of the population.

By actual data; about a MILLION die each year from CHOICE.

The part about those persons with an “in” being able to have tickets and fines “disappeared”.

Not like this happens in almost EVERY PD in the nation...

Yeah, if Obama was a heterosexual.

What!? Moving Section 8 housing into a middle/working-class community is supposed to have the opposite effect. The welfare class is supposed to absorb the middle-class values.

When the conflict began, Franklin Graham’s crisis response team set up a mobile counseling center and brought in chaplains from all over the country who volunteered to stay for a week and minister to the people of Ferguson in every way possible. This team was on the ground for 90 days, just helping folks navigate the turmoil, confusion and destruction happening in their community and offering hope for healing as well. Many rioters were coming from out of town and helping to incite the violence. The small town was in disbelief at the chaos that ensued. They weren’t at all prepared for the influx of various groups stirring up anger and encouraging destruction.

I was privileged to meet one of the young men who led the effort to bring spiritual renewal to Ferguson last December. His name is J.T. Thomas, a new father and trained minister with a heart and passion for finding lasting solutions to the divisions our country faces. He was on the ground in Ferguson as the story unfolded and saw firsthand the pain and brokenness in the hearts of the people. He’s been working with Ferguson area pastors and churches ever since to rebuild and renew the community.

You are correct. I did not hear of this at all until you posted the link. Thank you very much. Seems Samaritan's Purse is doing a lot more than disaster and war relief.

Well, for supposedly shooting “at someone else”, that’s some kind of shootin’...

He happens to miss his primary “target” at least 2 times and is able to strike both officers in approximately the same location...face and shoulder with two stray rounds?

uh uh, sure.

Felony attempted murder is what he should be charged with...

Caww, I appreciate your concerns and your compassion exhaustion with this whole ridiculous affair. Your post is from a "meet the candidates" forum for our upcoming city council election. Some of the candidates you quote are people who are running in order to further or begin their career as rising stars in the black political heavens. Their views don't reflect the views of the sane people in this town. Hopefully they will not be elected. I am fortunate enough to have a clear cut choice in this election, as one of the candidates is a strong leader who has done great things for the city and the other is (how can I say this politely) not.

I, too, have little to no compassion for the people who are unwilling to admit that the problems in the black community are problems of morality and criminality. When I make these points with my black friends they hang their heads in shame and the discussion of that matter ends. They know I am correct. Rational people know that no culture, no society, no people can survive with a 75% or higher illegitimacy rate. Therein lies a problem. The thugs and criminals who are the useful idiots on the street are not rational.

So one ingredient of this toxic mix is a violent, intentionally irresponsible underclass of useful idiots who are masters of playing the victim card. An additional ingredient is the massive cultural pressure of political correctness. To proffer constructive criticism is to be an evil, slave-master racist, so after being beaten with that club enough times, the culture just stops trying to help. We need to stop being "nice" and start being harsh truth.

More toxins in the mix: the race grievance industry that is quick to scream at any offense, however slight or imagined, but unwilling to address the real and grievous failings of the people themselves. If racism ends, Jesse and Al lose their fat paychecks.

More toxins: the media's pre-determined opinion that YT is evil and must somehow atone for their "white privilege." You are seeing nothing about this Pro-Ferguson rally on the media because they are choosing not to report it. Memory hole! I am attempting to fight this memory hole and will encourage some of my more social media savvy friends to get some stuff out there for us.

More toxins: St. Louis is a heavily Democrat area, particularly the areas that have been infested with Section 8 vote harvesting machines. The local Democratic Party township chairwoman is another person who claims to want to solve the problems but refuses to admit that the criminality within the black community is the root of all the problems within the black community. And on a similar note, the criminals who are sheltered, intentionally or unintentionally, by TPTB are terrorizing many good black people. As the whole world has seen, these thugs are violent, remorseless and vengeful.

More toxins: State and local government has emasculated our police force. Ending a riot should be simply a matter of shooting a few of the useful idiots and forcing their string pullers to come up with a new plan. However, our police are not allowed to wear riot gear to a riot. What will they be allowed to wear when it becomes a war zone? Which brings up another matter. The riots and protests are happening in tiny portions of Ferguson. The places where the rot of the dependency culture has not yet taken root are still lovely.

The most toxic ingredient of all: The Federal government wants to create race riots throughout this country. The Federal government wants to fundamentally transform this country. Ferguson is the test case. This is where they are refining their skills and mastering the craft of destruction. All the elements were in place here and the spark was struck when thugs lied about what a police officer did to a thug. We are the test case. What they learn here will be implemented elsewhere

Caww, I like your critiques. Iron sharpens iron. I still have many noob restrictions on my freerepublic account and I'm completely new to this whole social media thing, but I'm attempting to get the word out and will respond whenever time permits.

Greeneyes, thanks for your positive posts. There's a lot of shifty stuff going on here, and much of it points to the Democrat Party leadership. The former mayor's criticism of Mayor Knowles, if it happened, was either early on in this whole fiasco or was twisted by the enemedia. Mayor Knowles was completely blindsided by this whole catastrophe and was too inexperienced to perfectly handle the public relations side of things. He has grown so much through all this and he has repeatedly responded well of late. Please pray hard for him and his family - he's under unimaginable pressure.

If you graduated UMSL 20 years ago, you wouldn't recognize the place. Tons of new buildings, all paid for on the public's dime, but still pretty and impressive.

You should come back and check out the town. It really is quite lovely, especially when the anarchists aren't in bloom.

The rally was mostly white, but there were a lot of local black residents there as well. I overheard a conversation where a lovely black woman was expressing her disgust with the black people who are protesting. There was also a smattering of Asians as well. I know it sounds bizarre, but race is not really an issue among most of the good citizens of Ferguson. I think I just heard someone's head explode.

Thanks to the internet, Facebook, Twitter, etc., these types of stories are getting out. If you have any sort of link to this story I would be happy to add it to my FB and Twitter pages.

Perhaps you have a bit more information on a Middle East Christian relief effort called RUN ministries. I received some newsletters of their goings on through Grass Fire. They post frequently they are losing relief workers in Northern Iraq and Syria. I have come up empty looking for other sources to confirm their reports or even addressing the validity of their ministry work. If you know of any other sources where I can check on let me know. Normal net search comes up with only Grass Fire and RUN links.
