Let's just get it over with and go for a guaranteed income for all. If you work and earn less than the guaranteed income, the government will pay you the difference. If you don't work, the government will pay you the guaranteed amount anyway. After all, a living wage is a human right. As is healthcare. The government should provide it. As is housing. Food. Clothing. Cell phones. Internet. Transportation. Vacations.
But we must all pay our fair share.
Those earning less than the guaranteed income will receive a check from the IRS. Those earning more than the guarantee up to, say $100,000 will pay a 50% tax. Earnings over $100,000 to $250,000 will pay a 75% tax and anything over $250,000 pays 90% tax. Fair is fair and there should be limits on how much wealth a person should be allowed to accumulate. You do not earn your income on your own. Your income is earned on the backs of the poor and disadvantaged/underprivileged and it's our responsibility to provide for them.
And again, I must repeat. Who are you and what did you do with Jim?
Oh, I almost forgot an important human right. Free drugs.

Okay, if you say so, but that sounds pretty close to my tirade/rant last week when I had my taxes done, although there is a lack of monosyllable expletives in your version :)
And I can’t forget to include the human right not to be offended by extreme speech, therefore conservatives also must sit in the back of the bus and shut the hell up.
All of the above gives us our four important freedoms:
Freedom from offensive speech
Freedom from religion
Freedom from want
Freedom from fear
My wife and I have a 13 year old son. For the last couple of weeks he’s been playing the “poor, downtrodden, picked-on, oppressed ME” game.
If you asked my wife right now, she’d probably tell you that she believes abortion should be legal at any time up to the child’s 21st birthday.

The Left _does_ want guaranteed minimum income with high & progressing taxes for anyone making more than that (distressingly, the Fair Tax actually implements a nearly-complete precursor to that). Yes, they also want those “rights”.
