CBS is leading the way to the future model of paid subscribership. Right now you can go subscribe to CBS and get their current shows and a huge portion of their past shows.
Their was shows are dated ... I mean who wants to watch Battlestar Galactica from the 70’s?
It’s only a matter of time before they figure out they have to produce quality material to sustain their future business model.
Broadcast, to a large extent is going to die, but the broadcasters are not. Cable and online streaming will just become more competitive.
Will "net neutrality" that Obama is ushering in kill inexpensive streaming? Will the government's intrusion regulate streaming, charge taxes, impose licenses(as they do with TV broadcasting), thus causing streaming to become just as convoluted and expensive as TV?
I watch the 70s Battlestar Galactica all the time. It is wholesome, especially the robot dog. Over the air antenna, no calbe for 5 years. Used the savings to fund a small village mission work in Thailand. Use roku to stream significant free entertainment plus our tv streams youtube directly. Youtube is a virtual Alexandria library of how to and how it work videos.
If you are looking for a tv, definitely get on with builtin streaming apps and the youtube app and you’ll never miss cable. Broadcast tv will die off in our lifetime, merge in some way with streaming.
