FYI most cops and firefighters are military veterans and or in the National Guard or Reserves.
Please cite your source. They’re not in Los Angeles, one of the biggest cities in America. And even if it were true, how does that translate to “respect” for the job of firefighter?
Veterans get preferential hiring at our DMV (as well they should). That doesn’t mean I have to “respect” DMV clerks. Make me laugh. I respect the VETERAN, not the job he has now, whether it’s firefighter or DMV clerk.
