White House Petition to Charge ‘Treasonous’ Senators for Iran Letter Breaks 100,000 Signers in One

A petition posted to the White House’s ‘We the People’ do it yourself petition site on Monday calls for prosecution under the Logan Act of the forty-seven U.S. senators who signed a letter initiated by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) to the Iranian government about the negotiations for a nuclear deal between the Islamist state sponsor of terrorism and President Barack Obama.

The petition accuses the senators of having committed a “treasonous offense” and violating the Logan Act which prohibits U.S. citizens from conducting unauthorized negotiations with foreign powers.

Signers of the petition rocketed it past the 100,000 minimum signers set by the Obama administration to receive a response from the White House in just one day. The petition was created by “C.H.” of Bogata, New Jersey on Monday the same day the letter was released and by late Tuesday evening it had well over 118,000 signatures. In a one-hour period Tuesday night over seven thousand signatures were added to the petition.

The text of the petition reads:

“WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:

“File charges against the 47 U.S. Senators in violation of The Logan Act in attempting to undermine a nuclear agreement.

A strange reaction from the party that loves Chavez and Castro.

"what matters is THIS may be the prelude to Martial Law..."

Then we can start shooting back. As far as I'm concerned, we can live without Democrats. They are too stupid to live. Think of the commute with only half the traffic, safe neighborhoods, all the Starbucks closed from lack of business, no market for gluten-free anything...

The only reason they're overreacting like this is because they know Obama actually is guilty of treason.

Exactly. He has been giving aid and comfort to the enemy since he was elected in 2008, not to mention his solicitation for illegal invaders from Mexico and South America.

A ludicrous claim. Why is American public discourse from mostly the extreme left polluted by such ignorance of our constitution, history, and law? . How about a petition that has some legal substance behind it , instead. Like one demanding the impeachment and treason charges Agsinst The One...

Whatever the Senators have done in the course of their business is outside of the law’s reach. They are exempt if it’s official business.

That was Kerry's second act of treason. Here is his first...

American Patriots Against John Kerry

The 1970 meeting that John Kerry conducted with North Vietnamese communists violated U.S. law, according to an author and researcher who has studied the issue.

Kerry met with representatives from “both delegations” of the Vietnamese (North Vietnamese and Viet Cong) in Paris in 1970, according to Kerry’s own testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on April 22, 1971. But Kerry’s meetings with the Vietnamese delegations were in direct violation of laws forbidding private citizens from negotiating with foreign powers, according to researcher and author Jerry Corsi, who began studying the anti-war movement in the early 1970s.

According to Corsi, Kerry violated U.S. code 18 U.S.C. 953. “A U.S. citizen cannot go abroad and negotiate with a foreign power,” Corsi told CNSNews.com.

By Kerry’s own admission, he met in 1970 with delegations from the North Vietnamese communist government and discussed how the Vietnam Warshould be stopped.

Can you hang a double traitor twice?

Sec. of State John Kerry did far worse as a citizen when he met with the North Vietnamese to 'negotiate'.

Oh, how I would love to force the issue here!
Set things up so that it's his policies/ideals against the actual Constitutional definition of Treason.

This could easily be done by a [southern state] governor declaring a state of invasion, calling up their national guard with lethal force authorization and demands that Sec 4 of Art 4 of the US Constitution be upheld by demanding the federal government assist them. (Trying to federalize the troops would be action aiding the enemies of that state, judicial actions against would also fall under the definition of rendering aid and comfort to the enemies of the states [even the Supreme Court], and the Legislative, as well, is not privileged from arrest for Treason!)

Given the number of people who are married to the Open Borders among the federal government's elite, along with their we're untouchable arrogance — the result would be quite interesting.

A petition? OH NO! What will we do???

*******

I hear that there is a new petition: "If you believe that President Obama abused the laws of the Constitution of the United States with his executive actions giving amnesty to 5,000,000 illegal aliens, please sign here."

I think that we might get more than the 100,000 signatures that the White House petition condemning the Senators' Iran letter received.
