Physical security of the Clinton e-mail sever
And Still I Persist… ^ | March 10, 2015 | Bruce F. Webster

Posted on 03/10/2015 9:00:22 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

I’ve raised in prior posts (here and here) the issue of physical security of the clintonemail.com e-mal server, which is why were it was located and how it was set up matters. Last night, Mitch LaKind — who has experience setting up secure military e-mail servers — wrote me about the detailed issues surrounding Clinton’s approach. I’ll let him speak for himself (emphasis mine, though):

As a former contractor to the Air Force, I personally managed the Microsoft Exchange servers that were installed at Thule Air Base. My experience with Microsoft Exchange goes back to 1997, when the earliest versions were just being introduced. . . . So, I have a bit of knowledge myself when it comes to email.

Anyway, the point I wanted to make, and perhaps if you feel that it is noteworthy you can share my info to those that can get it out into the public eye, is about the Network that the email server was running on.

The US gov’t, and more specifically the DoD and State Department run the NIPRNet (non-classified Network) and SIPRNet (classified Network up to SECRET). Having a server, regardless of location would have to be on a network that met the rating for which classified material would be traveling over it.

It would be impossible for the Secretary of State to be effective at her job if she didn’t correspond about topics that had classified material. We don’t have to argue about whether or not she was effective .

So, if for example Clinton only dealt with SECRET materials and they were sent or received in her email, all of the equipment (routers, switches, etc.) would have to be rated for that SIPRNet connection. Also, the space in which the equipment and servers and client computers resided in would also have to meet the specifications for SECRET material. This would include various forms of physical access to the space in the form of secure cards, biometrics, etc. No space rated for SECRET opens with a key from the local hardware store.

That being said, if the room and equipment was rated for SECRET, it would leave a huge paper trail as all the equipment and effort to make the space secure would require procurement and assignment of goods and services. This would mean that the federal government was not only aware of the remote server, but also complicit.

Even a NIPRNet connection would have similar logistics behind it, because of the very nature the connection would have been some type of point to point to the server.

The biggest issue I see here would be is if the server was connected to the public Internet and it resided in a non-DoD-approved space.

Yeah, I’ll say. Other have been pointing this out, and I’ve touched upon it, but Mitch really gets to the heart of a key issue: either the Clinton server room — wherever that was — was SECRET-level secure, and the government was involved in setting it up, or it wasn’t, and that end of the communications link was at risk.

Neither answer looks good for HRC.

Mrs. Clinton shed a little light on the origins of the email server she used, saying on Tuesday it “started with my husband.”

One person familiar with the arrangement said it was set up at the couple’s home in Chappaqua after former President Bill Clinton left office in 2001. Mr. Clinton doesn’t use email, but his aides do, and they wanted a system that was separate from the nonprofit Clinton Foundation servers for personal correspondence and business dealings.

At one point, a top adviser to Mrs. Clinton, Huma Abedin, approached foundation officials and asked if Mrs. Clinton could establish an email account of her own on the same server. Justin Cooper, an aide to Mr. Clinton, established the domain name, clintonemail.com, and put it on the server.

I imagine the security at the Clinton household is pretty good, but as anyone knows, computers can be accessed remotely by a system administrator. All computers require frequent updates to patch vulnerabilities, and someone needs to constantly monitor the server for any signs of a breach as well. Who was that person, I wonder?

Student got where it was supposed to be.

I’d guess they had a guy with a Glock guarding those rooms, too.

I personally think everything Clinton got as SOS was classified until the company declassified it.
So at some point IMO she had to be breaking the law.

Hillary Clinton had the highest security clearance as The Secretary of State. Her security clearance was the same as the President of the United States.

Her E Mail Server was not secure as it was a non governmental server. The most sought after emails for a hacker are the President of the United States and the Secretary of State. Without any doubt her email has been hacked. Anything on that server is now in the possession of Russia, China, North Korea and any sophisticated hacker with enough money and talent to hack the server.

The most kind thing that can be said is she let our national secrets become the property of our enemies due to ignorance and hubris. Many things can be said about Hillary Clinton, but ignorance is not one of them!

It is not impossible that Hillary never did one single thing but feed her own fat ass and her personal foundation coffers the entire time she was Sec. State. She couldn't be bothered with embassy security...

Blow-by-Blow: How Obama & Hillary Left Americans to Die

"Nordstrom further testified in writing that Hillary Clinton waived security requirements for the Benghazi consulate despite high and critical threat levels in the six categories of security standards established under the Overseas Security Policy Board and the Secure Embassy Construction and Counterterrorism Act of 1999.

The waiver can only be authorized by the Secretary of State, who cannot delegate that responsibility to someone else. ”If the Secretary of State did not waive these requirements, who did so by ordering occupancy of the facilities in Benghazi and Tripoli?” Nordstrom wrote."

How long would it take to delete that many emails?

Plus, why say there were 30,000 that she deleted. Why not say “I only used it for personal reasons a few times and I deleted those. I think there were less that a few hundred.”

After reading multiple articles and hundreds of posts, I’ve come to the conclusion that the ‘server’ is on board flight MH370.

I think by “secure server” Hillary Clinton must mean that she got her e-mail service through the secure server of the Bill Clinton Library and Online Adult Book Store.

What would you want to bet that the server is not in the Chappaqua house, but that it is located on the top floor of 55 West 125 street in the office of one William Jefferson Clinton. That the server is actually the same one the General Services Administration installed for the former POTUS, making it and it’s contents property of the United States of America.

Her method of insuring her emails were archived was to send them to other US government employees, who's .gov accounts were archived. Not much help when in her job as Sec State she was sending emails to essentially all countries. Those she sent to Putin at .gov.ru are doubtless archived on some FSB joke lists, but I'm dubious our archivists can access them. At least we know the NSA probably has any she sent to Merkel.

One of the best arguments for that is that the Clintons never pay for anything. They always get someone else to pay their way.

Hillary has a long history of taking physical control of evidence for dishonest purposes. When she was on the Watergate team considering impeachment, she squirreled away the opinion that gave precedent for Nixon having the advice of counsel... and THEN claimed there was no such precedent.

As a network administrator for a federally regulated financial institution (we have to be SOX compliant), had I or anyone on my team done what Hillary did, we, as well as the officers of the company, would be facing long federal prison terms, as well as huge fines.

Even if you know nothing about computer networks or email systems, you just need to ask yourself one question:

“Would the IRS accept the sort of answers toward your own income taxes that Hillary is pedaling, as far as offering information?”

And remember, there are subpoenas for her email, which was never stored on the government systems, but privately held by her and her minions, to be sure the messages could never be accessed by anyone else.
