For a smart guy, he’s not very smart.

I have noted that often times in history, we see people who are exceedingly smart believing all manner of ridiculous and nonsensical things. Generally this isn't a problem until they start affecting public policy. It is usually thereafter a disaster. (Woodrow Wilson, John Maynard Keynes, Robert McNamara , etc.)

Richard Dawkins is seemingly oblivious to the fact that the only reason our society exists is the moral underpinnings of religious teachings. When you toss out the foundation for morality, you get scientific based morality, the sort of which Nazi Eugenicists horrified us all with previously in history.

If it just randomly evolved into us, why should we give a hoot about what it is?

There are at least two issues here.

Determinism, free will and all.

and

Our ability to know “right from wrong”. Moral relativism.

http://www.hks.harvard.edu/m-rcbg/youngfaculty/papers/Homeschooling2002.pdf

Testing the Boundaries of Parental Authority by Robert Reich.

This covers the so-called “right of exit” that requires the state to separate children from their parents influence when it comes to religious beliefs.
It’s a PDF, and must be downloaded to read, but it will chill you to the bone.

Intelligence has an achilles’ heel. It can make one proud. And pride can cause one to ignore the softer skills of life that nonetheless are essential if it is to carry on without constant conflict.

How do I know that? Been there, done that, personally. It is hard to be gracious to those overwhelmed in such a fault and yet, graciousness is exactly what the doctor ordered. After all, you don’t give hot baths to someone with a fever.

At Trinity college?

What's the Trinity there? Mao, Lenin and Stalin?

Just Dawkins pulling all the control-rods out of a nuclear reactor....convinced nothing bad will happen. Insuperable hubris.

That’s a great quote. I had not seen that before but I have read about quantum physics and the amazing precision of the vibrations and mathematical precision of atoms. It’s actually mind boggling.

The parents primary function is to teach about Sex and Religion. These things for children should come from nowhere else at first.

Dont laugh its true. That is where you learn about this stuff that is the proper and correct place.

This is nonsense or liberal.

I’d condense that to: to teach about Love.

By deed and by word. Without hypocrisy.

There is no reason for his ignorance, so it must be a blindness that comes from his rejection of, even hatred for the source of truth. Satan is a liar and deceiver, and whether he knows it or not, Dawkins worships at his alter. He is, therefore, easily deceived into believing the most foolish ideas.

I’m damn proud of my humility !!!

/s

The greatest challenge I encountered in my journey is the one of “Free Will”.

I’d like to know your thoughts.

He thinks that his braininess will save everybody. And that there will be no spirituality to raise a danger without religion. He’s quite wrong. There will be a surfeit of sheer superstition. That was the Russian atheist experience.

We came off the Fall filled with pride. It was in the devil’s lure and spell.

All I can say is that God by grace proves to me more and more that I don’t need pride that I didn’t even know I had.

I’d put up money to help send Dawkins to give this exact same talk in Riyadh. After all, there are millions of at-risk children in Saudi Arabia.

Is it not fascinating how these supposedly “bright” people are rather dim bulbs?

Hey Dawkins, keep your creepy little silly ideas to yourself.

And you can shove your “state” up your Obamahole.

Why don’t we make a big list and compare the evil done in the name of Christ against the evil done by atheists.

A few years ago I came up with this list of atheism's death toll in just the last century:

Rachel Carson (author of "Silent Spring" which resulted in the DDT ban): 50-80 MILLION deaths and rising every year.

Margaret Sanger: 46 MILLION deaths worldwide EVERY YEAR (850 MILLION to 1.2 BILLION worldwide since 1900).

Stalin: 13 MILLION+ deaths.

Hitler: 12 MILLION+ deaths.

Mao: 50-80 MILLION deaths.

So, in just the last century, atheism is responsible for the deaths of AT LEAST 975 MILLION INNOCENT people. (And note that this only counts the genocide that can be directly attributed to them, if the wars initiated by Stalin, Mao and Hitler were included there would be close to 100 MILLION more.)

Dawkins is a typical atheist- base cowards who bemoan the supposed dangers of a peaceful religion like Christianity while making sure not to say one word about the clear and present evils of Islam. They’re a group of self righteous, pusillanimous, poltroons and nothing more.
