Kerry says demanding Iran's 'capitulation' is no way to secure nuclear deal (stands with Iran)

MONTREUX, Switzerland - Simply demanding Iran's capitulation is no way to get a nuclear deal with the Islamic Republic, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on Wednesday as he wrapped up three days of talks with a veiled dig at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Kerry said he and Iranian counterpart Mohammad Jawad Zarif made some progress in their negotiations in the Swiss lakeside town of Montreux and would resume them on March 15. Kerry aides said many obstacles remained before a late March deadline for an outline accord between Iran and six world powers.

"There are still significant gaps and important choices that need to be made," Kerry told reporters after more than 10 hours of talks all told with Zarif.

On Tuesday, Netanyahu said in a speech in the U.S. Congress that Washington was negotiating a bad deal with Iran that could spark a "nuclear nightmare," drawing a rebuke from President Barack Obama and exposing a deepening U.S.-Israeli rift.

Kerry said politics and external factors would not distract from the talks, which aim to constrain Iran with intrusive U.N. access and verification of its nuclear activity and lengthen the "break-out" time needed for it to build any nuclear weapon.

“No one has presented a more viable, lasting alternative for how you actually prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. So folks, simply demanding that Iran capitulate is not a plan. And nor would any of our P5+1 partners support us in that position.”

Netanyahu has called for the powers to insist Iran dismantle its nuclear infrastructure and change what he described as its "aggressive" regional posture -- an idea swiftly rejected by the Obama administration as tantamount to seeking "regime change" in Tehran. Israel and Iran have been arch-enemies since 1979.

Make no mistake about it, The God of Israel is taking note and writing up the scores of who is siding with him and Israel, and who is siding with Satan, God’s enemies, and who is Israel’s enemies.

I have to say I’m a bit surprised that we haven’t simply GIVEN Iran a few dozen nuclear devices in the ten megaton range, with printed instructions for their detonation and full maintenance packs in case they might wish to store them rather than use them immediately....

Obama and Kerry are surely off their game on this one.

Asking Iran to act like a normal country is apparently too high a bar for Obama and Kerry to demand of Iran.

They want Israel to capitulate but not its adversary.

Interesting viewpoint.

So, America’s and Israel’s “capitulation” is the only way to secure a nuclear deal?

the talks, which aim to constrain Iran with intrusive U.N. access and verification of its nuclear activity and lengthen the "break-out" time needed for it to build any nuclear weapon. Not stop Iran from getting nukes, just lengthening the time till they do.

"Simply demanding Iran's capitulation is no way to get a nuclear deal with the Islamic Republic"

Then what good would any purported "deal" be?

IF we would ally , the combined powers of the U.S. , Israel , Russia and China could EASILY put Iran in it’s box . Permanently .

We have to re-befriend Russia , support Israel and draw China away from it’s insane support of the Iran-North Korean alliance that it secretly also backs .

The rest of the world could offer China far more incentive to dump Iran AND North Korea .....

With Russia commanding the northern approaches , we should go in and physically remove the Mullah Regime B4 the have nukes to fight back with . Strike now ! Don’t wait
