The best that can be hoped for is a Western European style of "capitalism" that is highly regulated, heavily taxed, and underpinned by a huge safety net paid for by the working stiffs.

In the end, Europe may ultimately become more like the US once was as their working age populations diminish and they can no longer afford the safety net.

The US is essentially conferring welfare benefits and voting rights on everyone who can physically get here. At some point will it be extended to those who would like to come here but can’t make the move just yet? Will rights be granted to Chinese (and other) families one of whose members came here to have a baby then returned home?

everything you wrote is spot on, except you forgot to add how it destroys any and all decent, safe towns/cities all over the US. Rural too, make no mistake ghetto/barrio/sharia will be imported to very nook and cranny.

What the Republicans may agree to or hold out for is immaterial to what will be done. Congress has no utility at all now. All power has been effectively turned over to the Sultan. Any effective opposition now must come from the States or from citizens with guns and a lot more gumption than the middle class seems capable of.
