The Republican Who Can Win
PJMedia ^ | 3/1/2015 | Andrew Klavan

Posted on 03/03/2015 9:45:18 AM PST by RightGeek

I sincerely wish that GOP candidates who cannot win the presidency would simply not run and save us all the trouble. Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Lindsey Graham, Rick Perry — none of these people is going to be the next president of the United States and each of them could do his country and his party a service by staying out of the race. Rand Paul and Mike Huckabee both stand a slim shadow of a ghost of a chance but I wish they’d drop out, too. Presidential Candidate is not supposed to be a prestigious line on your CV. It’s something you become when you think you have a real opportunity to do some good to your native land.

As for those who have a path to victory — Scott Walker, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz — I will now tell you which one is the truly viable candidate, the only Republican who could actually win the general.

The Republican who can win the general is whichever one realizes that he is running against the news media.

The Democrats have nothing. Their presumptive candidate is a corrupt old crone who has lied to and double-dealt this country far too long. Their current president has done us the favor of showing us the utter worthlessness of the leftist agenda. He has made the collective life of the country worse at every level except the executive level. When it comes to the Democrats and their philosophy, the white is coming off the sepulcher.

But while the left has no practical or moral legitimacy and no candidate who can plausibly represent even their empty promises, they do have one weapon left: the news media. NBC News, ABC News, CBS News, CNN, the New York Times, the Washington Post — each one of these corrupt mouthpieces and all their little acolytes and satellites not only speak for the Democrats but seek to destroy anyone who stands against them. We’ve seen the signs in these last weeks as Scott Walker’s star has risen and the Democrat toadies have rushed out to hound him with meaningless questions in hopes of a “gotcha” moment.

Do you believe in evolution? Is Barack Obama a Christian? Does Barack Obama love America? And soon to come: Do you believe in abortion in cases of rape and incest? Even worse, if a Republican candidate fumbles any of these answers, Candy Crowley won’t even rush in to help him out!

Damn right that’s what I meant. I’ve been voting GOP for 25 years, and the result is always the same - surrender, surrender surrender. I won’t have any part of it. To earn another vote, the GOP will need to show some balls by strongly and effectively opposing obola and the rats. So far, they have only surrendered, time and again. Not another vote.

“Didn’t work for Romney and McCain, won’t work for Jebster”

So you acknowledge that it will help Hillary win as it also helped Obama win.

Which party will you be voting for, is it one that you have supported in the past?

Cruz was born in Canada.
The dhimmicrats and the lamestream media will focus on this 24/7 and ram it into the voters ears

Depends on a couple things. I'll vote for Gary Johnson if he runs on the libertarian ticket, although I'll be looking closely at independents and Constitution parties as well.

I voted straight Republican through 2004 (I'm sure there are posts from me regarding the many rallies I organized in support of W's 2000 win and subsequent recount fiasco here on FR), and I ran for State office in NM in 2000 (On the GOP ticket, and whose state party said I wouldn't get more than 5% of the vote, so they wouldn't support my candidacy - I lost with 31% of the vote), but started looking into other parties post 2006, after the R's lost the House and Senate after having all 3 houses for 6 years, and giving us the "Patriot" act and Medicare Part D, along with the beginning of the bailout/too big to fail policy that obola has continued.

I voted for 2 R candidates this last election - Bob Beuprez for Governor (he lost because he did not have the balls to stand up and paint Hickenlooper as the extremist he is) and Cory Gardner, who won his race for US Senate against the Dimocrat incumbent, and then promptly (on election night, no less) made it entirely clear that impeachment and government shutdown were off the table. It was that very moment that I decided, never again.

The GOP has slowly been moving left for decades. Millions like me have fought long and hard to keep it from happening, but we keeping getting the big FU after they get elected. No more. I will not take any further abuse from the GOP, despite the candidate. If you think somehow you are going to change the party from within, trust me, you won't. The GOP will continue to move left, and have proven this over and over and over and over and over again. I question how many times it takes for voters to get effed in the a before they realize it's far too painful, and the voter can stop it.

Judging from the # of GOPRINO lovers even right here on FR, I'd say there are far too many closet homos in the GOP. That's the only conclusion I can come to as to why we would continue to support the party that continues to screw us. I won't have anything to do with it any longer.

The funniest part? I had this crazy libertarian friend back in 2000, and he was telling me all the things I'm saying today, and all I did was counter him every single time. No, it'll be different if we can just take the House...it'll change if we can just get the Senate...OK, now we need the WH...

And here we are again...

I figured you are a libertarian.

So you support their agenda and want to advance their fundamental positions, which are:

Here is the leftists agenda hidden behind the Libertarian Party curtain.

Libertarian Party Platform:

Throw open the borders completely; only a rare individual (terrorist, disease carrier etc.) can be kept from freedom of movement through “political boundaries”.

Homosexuals; total freedom in the military, gay marriage, adoption, child custody and everything else.

Abortion; zero restrictions or impediments.

Pornography; no restraint, no restrictions.

Drugs; Meth, Heroin, Crack, and anything new that science can come up with, zero restrictions.

Advertising those drugs, prostitution, and pornography; zero restrictions.

Military Strength; minimal capabilities.

Excellent point. THE point. Forget about Hillary. We are running against a power to misinform deeply about 35% of the American people.

Generalizing. Let’s say that 50% of Americans are either conservatives or low info slightly to the right. Low info is not an insult: these people might be lazy bums, but more likely they are spending their time welding, building, selling, caring for their children or their parents, BUSY. No time or interest in deeply researching news. This 50% will vote for the R. (Or stay home if the R is a RINO)

Of the other 50%, 15% are hard core leftists. 35% are to the left of center but HIGHLY INFLUENCED by media, Hollywood, and their friends/race/orientation. Some of these are low info. But it doesn’t matter - most of the low info will go to the left because they might see a comedy channel news show or SNL or even a newspaper. A lot of elderly on the left still cling to the NYT.

It is the low info voter slightly to the left whom Reagan was able to get. Bush got them too, just enough (barely).

These low info busy slightly left of center voters are easily influenced but they have to be reached, and they have to be reached in numbers at one time. You need to have two friends, say female, age doesn’t matter, could be 20 or 80. Two females turning to each other at preschool or over coffee at the senior center, saying “Did you see the speech last night by that [republican candidate]? I couldn’t believe I was agreeing with every word he said! What is wrong with me? Ah ha ha ha!” And the friend has to say, “OMG, me too! I thought I was the only one! But it’s true, [important issue] would be better if we were free to choose! He really has a point. Tell me when he’s gonna be on again, I want to hear this.” Only when they feel comfortable they aren’t alone in thinking higher of a R candidate will they persevere.

The media have it easy - they Just spin to shape these people’s opinions. Most of these people will not hear the candidate, they will ONLY hear commentary after the fact, and take it as gospel, especially with the (thank you, Rush) Talking Point vocab the media will all use. The repetition sinks it in.

It is my belief that it is not too early for a candidate to start SLIPPING INTO HIS EVERY SPEECH right now some choice explanations of how the media works to discredit him and his fellow republicans. NOW. GET OUT IN FRONT OF IT.

How I wish Ted Cruz would do this. I think he’d be our best leader, since Bibi really would not be considered natural born, lol. Cruz, even if he is speaking to the Texas Toilet Paper Rollers Union, should get into his speech some lines about the mainstream media taking sides, with some factual evidence. He should ask questions in each speech about what the media will do in the face of an ongoing current event, then predict what they will do. Slow delivery, crack timing. Like Bibi.

Only when those on the right start PREDICTING the media’s biased response before the media responds will these low info busy voters even consider that the media is not Gd speaking facts. They just don’t bother thinking about such things. Like when you see a photo of an amazing thing, like two bears fighting. You don’t think about the cameraman.

I figured you are a libertarian.

And, after I thought you were actually interested, this is what you focus on. OK, I get it. You're one of those closeted homos that like it in the rear, so long as it's from the GOP. Fine. As I've said before, to paraphrase a REAL patriot: May your chains rest lightly on your wrists, and may posterity forget you were our Countryman.

I'm done with traitorous wretches.

I was interested, and I correctly figured you as a homo loving libertarian.

Actually in your post there, you just described a libertarian with your pro-homosexual agenda which includes homosexual marriage and gays in the military homosexuals adopting children, homosexual porn being openly promoted.

Along with full term abortions, your party platform supports this.

1.4 Personal Relationships
Sexual orientation, preference, gender, or gender identity should have no impact on the government’s treatment of individuals, such as in current marriage, child custody, adoption, immigration or military service laws.

That short list is about it. Even according to the odds makers. The author is right: they have to understand they are running against the MSM.

Actually, I see 2 of 3 upsides to this next election. If Cruz or Walker win, we might actually see a turnaround from the brink. If Hillary wins, she brings this country down faster than a GOPe, and we hopefully can begin the great cleansing process. If a GOPe wins, we are in for a long hell of slow downward spiral.

I figured you are a libertarian.

So, from "I voted striaght Republican through 2004, ran as a Republican candidate, voted Republican, Libertarian, Constitutional Party and Independent", you got "I figured you for a libertarian."

Who ties your shoelaces for you?

So?

1. So he was born in Canada, he is still eligible to be POTUS. It is an immaterial fact.
2. Do you not think they will find someone on anyone who is a conservative and "ram it into the voters ears"? Are you suggesting we should move to the middle and accept a moderate-liberal like Jeb Bush?

George Raft - they called him “Spats” in “Some Like It Hot” - funny old movie with Tony Curtis, Marilyn Monroe (OMG) and Jack Lemmon...

Great flick... Raft was the stereotypical 30s gangster... played it great!.
