The Republican Who Can Win
PJMedia ^ | 3/1/2015 | Andrew Klavan

Posted on 03/03/2015 9:45:18 AM PST by RightGeek

I sincerely wish that GOP candidates who cannot win the presidency would simply not run and save us all the trouble. Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Lindsey Graham, Rick Perry — none of these people is going to be the next president of the United States and each of them could do his country and his party a service by staying out of the race. Rand Paul and Mike Huckabee both stand a slim shadow of a ghost of a chance but I wish they’d drop out, too. Presidential Candidate is not supposed to be a prestigious line on your CV. It’s something you become when you think you have a real opportunity to do some good to your native land.

As for those who have a path to victory — Scott Walker, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz — I will now tell you which one is the truly viable candidate, the only Republican who could actually win the general.

The Republican who can win the general is whichever one realizes that he is running against the news media.

The Democrats have nothing. Their presumptive candidate is a corrupt old crone who has lied to and double-dealt this country far too long. Their current president has done us the favor of showing us the utter worthlessness of the leftist agenda. He has made the collective life of the country worse at every level except the executive level. When it comes to the Democrats and their philosophy, the white is coming off the sepulcher.

But while the left has no practical or moral legitimacy and no candidate who can plausibly represent even their empty promises, they do have one weapon left: the news media. NBC News, ABC News, CBS News, CNN, the New York Times, the Washington Post — each one of these corrupt mouthpieces and all their little acolytes and satellites not only speak for the Democrats but seek to destroy anyone who stands against them. We’ve seen the signs in these last weeks as Scott Walker’s star has risen and the Democrat toadies have rushed out to hound him with meaningless questions in hopes of a “gotcha” moment.

Do you believe in evolution? Is Barack Obama a Christian? Does Barack Obama love America? And soon to come: Do you believe in abortion in cases of rape and incest? Even worse, if a Republican candidate fumbles any of these answers, Candy Crowley won’t even rush in to help him out!

Personally, I do not care at all what happens to the GOP.

They are absolute trash.

Sadly, America is going to suffer greatly as a result of the treachery of this government, of which the GOP is an integral part.

They are an important cog in this infernal machine.

I am not a big fan of Romney but he was light years a better nominee than McCain. He at least stood up to Obama. McCain is basically on the same side as Obama. I have zero respect for McCain.

I recall the debate between Obama and Romney when the two “circled” each other, leaning forward and clutching their microphones.

It looked like something out of “World Wrestling Entertainment.”

What’s the chances we’ve been getting played?

Long ago I noticed “progressives” accuse others of being what they are.

When your choice is have your daughter raped by a crip or raped by a blood what is the most logical choice?

My choice is neither.

We’re overdue for taking our nation back from the collectivists in both parties.

“So if Hillary “switched” parties and ran with the “R” she’d have your vote?”

No.

Do you think she’d win the nomination?

Actually, if she did that, and got the nomination, a third party might be viable.

If the GOP would simply do what they said they would do to convince us to vote them in we wouldn’t need to have this conversation.

Lucy counts on Charlie Brown to keep buying the lie and running at that football.

They share the hatred of Conservatives with “their friends across the aisle.”

I believe some on this thread are of like mind.

There’s Cruz and then there’s everyone else.

The list of Republicans I’d vote for is distressingly thin. The list of Republicans I’d like to horsewhip is depressingly large.

My question was an exaggeration. It goes along with the old saying about Yellow Dog Democrats “Voting for a yellow dog” if it was the Democrat.

I simply can’t buy the “anyone with an ‘R’” philosophy.

If the GOP wants Conservative support they have to stop betraying the Conservative base.

That is true, and it would be great if they were honest men, but they are not, they are the worst kind of liars.

This country is going to die on the damned lies of these damned people.

As far as the people who insist on continuing to support them, I don’t even know what to say. I guess that’s all they know to do. But I can’t really say that I blame them, because there is nothing else to do that I can think of.

I mean, America is pretty much out of time. We really do not have the luxury of waiting until 2016 and then hoping we can elect of non-liars into positions of authority.

I don’t really feel like electing anyone at this point, because I don’t trust anyone. Seems like everyone is trying to grab what they can before this ship sinks.

Frankly, I am wrestling with myself about just leaving here while I still can. This is getting very hard to stomach with losing my sanity.

Look - I hate the bastards. Here on the west coast I have literally no one to vote for....not even a RINO.

I don’t give $ to the GOPe - I give to the Senate Conservatives Fund.

We conservatives have been hog tied with no one to speak for us and effectively have the conditions that started a revolution: taxation without representation.

There is no good answer but I’ll be damned if I’ll vote for a rat - I’d rather move to Panama.

RE:”Meanwhile, Boehner & McConnell just destroyed the United States, barring one judge who will be ignored.”

Saw this the other day here, he explains exactly why the DHS funding was going to get passed. which seemed obvious to me. Don't take hostages that you are not ready to kill.

Cruz :If the GOP leadership had really wanted to stop amnesty, they would not have attached the provision defunding Obama’s amnesty to the DHS funding bill.
They would have attached it to a bill defunding the Environmental Protection Agency, “or some other non-essential agency.”
He described such agencies as “hostages the GOP could afford to hold.”
Cruz insisted GOP leaders knew all along that rank-and-file Republicans would never vote to defund the DHS during a time of increasing terror threats at home and abroad.
Ted Cruz spills secret of GOP amnesty sabotage (WND ^ | 03/01/2015 | Garth Kant posted here)

Did I hear you right? If Ted Cruz wins the Republican nomination, you will vote for whomever the third party candidate is...against Cruz? That would be nuts.

Why do you not want to discuss the politics of your favorite candidate, Gary Johnson?

Johnson is an excellent candidate, with more experience than even Sarah Palin. I lived in NM under both terms of Governor Johnson. I know what he's capable of, and how he leads.

No, what's nuts is what I've been doing, which is voting R just because, well, if we get the R majority, things will change I tell ya! Which is why I voted for, and fought hard for, that R majority from 2000-2006. You know, when we got the so-called "Patriot" act and Medicare Part D. No, nuts is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I'm done spinning my wheels. Voting R is not - I repeat, NOT - going to change a damned thing. The ONLY thing voting R accomplishes, is postponing the coming eventuality, but make no mistake, we're headed for ugly times, and it won't make on bit of difference between R and D. Get over it.

Good catch, SOL.

I knew they would sell us out. All you have to do is look at who the largest contributors are to McConnell and Boner. An I’m still batting 1,000. (Not that it took any genius)

You know what stil cracks me up? There’s an old Bugs Bunny cartoon, where they caricatured Edward G as a gangster... it’s hilarious.

Those animators were amazing. They really captured “the essence”, hah! There’s another one set in the Brown Derby, which I believe was a popular restaurant back then with the stars. Elmer Fudd is in it as a waiter.

Anyhow, they have Bogart, Gable, and a whole bunch of other contemporary characters in it... drawn perfectly.

Your worship of the radical pro-homosexual pro-abortion, politician only makes it more strange that you refuse to acknowledge his politics.

You and he are so pro-homosexual and hard left on so many issues that it is mind blowing.
