The Republican Who Can Win
PJMedia ^ | 3/1/2015 | Andrew Klavan

I sincerely wish that GOP candidates who cannot win the presidency would simply not run and save us all the trouble. Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Lindsey Graham, Rick Perry — none of these people is going to be the next president of the United States and each of them could do his country and his party a service by staying out of the race. Rand Paul and Mike Huckabee both stand a slim shadow of a ghost of a chance but I wish they’d drop out, too. Presidential Candidate is not supposed to be a prestigious line on your CV. It’s something you become when you think you have a real opportunity to do some good to your native land.

As for those who have a path to victory — Scott Walker, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz — I will now tell you which one is the truly viable candidate, the only Republican who could actually win the general.

The Republican who can win the general is whichever one realizes that he is running against the news media.

The Democrats have nothing. Their presumptive candidate is a corrupt old crone who has lied to and double-dealt this country far too long. Their current president has done us the favor of showing us the utter worthlessness of the leftist agenda. He has made the collective life of the country worse at every level except the executive level. When it comes to the Democrats and their philosophy, the white is coming off the sepulcher.

But while the left has no practical or moral legitimacy and no candidate who can plausibly represent even their empty promises, they do have one weapon left: the news media. NBC News, ABC News, CBS News, CNN, the New York Times, the Washington Post — each one of these corrupt mouthpieces and all their little acolytes and satellites not only speak for the Democrats but seek to destroy anyone who stands against them. We’ve seen the signs in these last weeks as Scott Walker’s star has risen and the Democrat toadies have rushed out to hound him with meaningless questions in hopes of a “gotcha” moment.

Do you believe in evolution? Is Barack Obama a Christian? Does Barack Obama love America? And soon to come: Do you believe in abortion in cases of rape and incest? Even worse, if a Republican candidate fumbles any of these answers, Candy Crowley won’t even rush in to help him out!

JEB is not the nominee, although I bet you support him for that (I do not) in that you know he would give your girl Hillary her best chance.

you love JEB so much you are all ready proclaiming him the candidate. Hold your horses, Hill-lover.

I don’t vote for liberals even if they ARE wearing an R jersey.

The GOP should nominate a conservative if they want to win, they have not the last two elections.

The Dems were claiming that charging the illegals those 'fees' would pay for processing them even without a DHS bill..

Not one dollar can be spent by the federal government unless the appropriation is approved by Congress, regardless of the source of the funding. So even those fees that are collected could not be spent to pay for the processing unless Congress approves - which they just did by passing the bill.

So you, dware, support Hillary Clinton.

Will you vote for ANY Republican in the General election?

I don’t. After all that the R’s have done to stab you in the back, you still sound like a battered woman...but I LUUUUV the GOP! Lol. Anyone who votes GOP needs to check their patriotism, and get a clue.

The party loyalists (GOP UBER ALLAS!) have forgotten who works for whom. They aren’t just taking crap sandwiches; they are buying them with a punch card so they can get a tenth crap sandwich for free!

We are paying for an inferior product and the product won’t improve until we demand something better!

By the way, Harry Reid needed to submit a semen sample so he sent John Boehner to go spit in a cup!

I am just curious...if you vote 3rd party to make a point and Hillary wins will you be happier?

Instead of trying to convince enough voters to support your beloved RINOs why don’t you tell the GOP to pull their heads out of their butts and stop alienating their Conservative base?

“Will you vote for ANY Republican in the General election?”

Most likely, yes, to defeat whoever is the Dem candidate.

That’s why now is the time to not nominate JEB and work to nominate a better candidate.

I support Palin, Cruz or Walker the most for the nominee.

Walker has won both election and Re-election in Uber-Blue Milwaukee County and in Purple-Blue Wisconsin while running as an unapologetic conservative.

Why should the GOP be placed in charge of this country?

Walker’s not my first choice but I’ll support him.

I’ll never vote for Jeb, Cristy or any other GOP Liberal.

You don’t make any sense.

All emotion, no reason and debauched sensibilities. Like liberals.

I noticed she never answered my question, which isn’t surprising.

It doesn’t really matter who anyone votes for at this point, the outcome is going to be the same.

America is going to hit the brick wall full speed.

But just for the sake of argument, if America does elect an actual conservative president, the congress and senate will prevent that person from doing anything at all, regardless of which party is in power at the time, however, I think that the GOP is going to be swept out hard next election, and deservedly so, but that doesn’t matter either.

If a liberal is elected, then the agenda will continue to advance.

The government is going to use our machinery to advance what it wants, and not one thing else, and that is just all there is to it.

Further, election are not relevant any longer, because the speed of the rogue government far outpaces our slow elections, it’s almost impossible to unseat an incumbent, and when you do manage to unseat one, 99 times out of 100 you simply replace a liar with another liar.

I am not sure that any solutions exist to this problem. We are really out of time. They are replacing this country’s population with a new population right now, and the election that doesn’t matter is 2 years away...

I doubt that those ‘fees’ on illegals which are new are mentioned anywhere in the ‘clean’ funding bill.

The objection seems to be that the bill didn't explicitly ban doing what Obama said that he was going to do, much like with the 2911 shutdown budgets,

If the GOP won’t remember who they work for they will go the way of the Whigs.

So if Hillary “switched” parties and ran with the “R” she’d have your vote?
