Dumb move means “not her fault”.
Email is recorded not just on the users pc. The emails can be recovered.
Precisely: “dumb,” certainly not corrupt.
Sure. But change it to a Republican, and it’s a lapse in ethics, a gross misconduct, a crime.
“dumb move” = Klinton don’t need no stinking oversight.

That is what I thought.
Yet the article describes it as a “violation of protocol”:
“Clinton is currently embroiled in controversy as it was revealed that she possibly violated government protocol during her tenure in the Obama administration.”
The press whitewashes with lies and distortion.
She registered a private domain for this, and presumably used a private mail server. The people running that server can make sure there aren't any copies. There will be copies in the recipient's mailboxes, and on the backups of those mail servers, but finding them all would be nearly impossible without a record of who she sent email to.
The timing is interesting. She floated a balloon about a week that she would announce earlier than excpected. Since then, the Foundation Scandal comes to the forefront and now the email scandal. It might be that she was preparing to throw Obama under the bus. But Obama’s bus wheels are much bigger than Hillary’s (or Bill’s) and he will never let her be president over his carcass...Just sayin’.

By her recent admittance in a talk she gave in Santa Clara, Hillary's a "hoarder" - she doesn't know when to let go. Only in her case she brags about it, in order to bring her followers down with her. What's incredible is that they haven't figured out she's working against them, that her attitude is that if she's going down, she's taking as many if "her own" with her as she can.
Oh well, can't fix stupid.

Violated government protocol is when you put people in the wrong order in a receiving line. This is a patently illegal premeditated act. But hey, what difference at this point, does it make?
