NYT: Hillary conducted official State business on her private e-mail account — all of it
Hot Air ^ | March 2, 2015 | Ed Morrissey

Ever wonder why multiple investigations of the Benghazi attack failed to turn up much from Hillary Clinton’s e-mails? So did the House Select Committee investigating the attack on the facility and the failures that led to it. To their surprise, the Secretary of State had conducted all of her e-mail on a private account rather than an official State Department account — and her aides had carefully culled only the e-mails they wanted investigators to see. The New York Times’ Michael Schmidt dropped that bombshell earlier this evening:

Hillary Rodham Clinton exclusively used a personal email account to conduct government business as secretary of state, State Department officials said, and may have violated federal requirements that officials’ correspondence be retained as part of the agency’s record.

Mrs. Clinton did not have a government email address during her four-year tenure at the State Department. Her aides took no actions to have her personal emails preserved on department servers at the time, as required by the Federal Records Act. …

The existence of Mrs. Clinton’s personal email account was discovered as a House committee investigating the attack on the American Consulate in Benghazi sought correspondence between Mrs. Clinton and her aides about the attack.

Two weeks ago, Mrs. Clinton provided the committee with about 300 emails — amounting to roughly 900 pages — about the Benghazi attacks that Mrs. Clinton’s aides had found among her personal emails.

Federal law requires government officials to conduct business communications on official media, for lots of good reasons. First, it allows for archival without the officials in question having an opportunity to “sanitize” the record. Second — and this is pretty important for the diplomatic corps — it allows the government to protect against intrusion from other nations and entities. Hillary’s practice of doing business through private servers bypassed both of those key protections.

Hillary Rotten Clinton IS A DEMOCRAT as is Obozo, yet we still think of them as human.

Will we ever learn?

All of the emails she sent TO anyone in the government should still be available, though harder to find. A search of the backup tapes of critical staff members would likely show up a high fraction of all of her internal emails. That obviously needs to be demanded by the Benghazi committee.

That, alone, is a felony.

Well, it would be for any normal person, especially if they happened to be a Republican.

But don't you understand that this is Hillary Clinton... the smartest human being ever to occupy this planet.

The normal rules don't apply to her. Just ask anyone in the MSM... they'll explain it to you.

It is. My husband works for the fed gov’t and all his work emails must go through the work address. He can forward something to his personal one or vice versa, but they all have to flow through the work address.

Not a problem. When Governor Palin sent some Emails through a Yahoo Account, it was the scandal of the Month.

Trouble was, she is a Republican and Hillary is Teflon.

I majored in Germanic languages, and read a lot of German literature and studied German history. If you had told the average German of 1928 about the coming war and Holocaust, they would have said “that can’t happen here.” Starting about 1955, when they were ready to confront what they had done, the main theme of German literature and theater was “how could we have let this happen?”

After getting my undergraduate degrees, I went to law school. In my first semester, Professor Harvey turned a lecture over to a Holocaust survivor who told us what he had to endure to survive Auschwitz. When he was done speaking, Professor Harvey took the podium and said “your duty as lawyers is to make sure this never happens again.” He was right; the legal profession in Germany failed to uphold the Rule of Law and the rights of the individual. That’s because in 1928 they all thought “that can’t happen here.”

After I left the lecture I mingled with my fellow students. Guess what they all said.

By the way, that was September, 1981.

A felony SO BALD, so clear, from one who next month will announce for the PRESIDENCY..???

Which is why they are leaking it now, so Hillary! can say "that's all been discussed and dealt with" as if it took place decades ago. What, do you think Loretta Lynch is going to pursue this?

Is this bad? Is this big? It’s in the Times, so I guess it’s big, unless they buried it on page whatever.

Is it big and bad, big and bad enough?

Same thing with the Lois Lerner emails. All the incriminating stuff was done under alias accounts.

Jail time for Air Force folks, if they do this type of thing.

But, laws don’t apply to the grifter class.
