Coach K doesnt kick players off his team lightly. Nor does he do it swiftly, it seems. The Duke Chronicle reported junior guard Rasheed Sulaimon, who became Mike Krzyzewskis first dismissal in 35 years as coach when Sulaimon was booted from the Blue Devils in late January, twice has been accused of sexual assault and the basketball programs honchos knew about it since March 2014. The report says two female students separately alleged in front of groups of other students at campus retreats that they were sexually assaulted by Sulaimon, a 20-year-old Houston native

Interesting
“Rasheed Sulaimon”...hmm- just wondering but if Rasheed were a white dude, like most of the Duke lax players, would they have waited so long to kick him off the team??
Accused. But not reported to police or even campus authorities.
But...
But...
But...
He’s REALLY good at throwing a ball through a hoop.
Why SHOULDN’T they spot him a couple of rapes?
Honky LAX = legal charges express
Urban Muzzie = no questions asked
Sulaimon is a good Christian name, isn’t it?
What is it?
if you dont mind please email with citations.
He was ‘accused’ by two women at some sort of retreat. The never reported it formally to the school or the proper authorities, IE: The POLICE!
Enough of this nonsense. If a woman doesn’t report a ‘sex crime’ it didn’t happen. PERIOD!
More to the point: In the immortal words of Rene ‘Dumbroadksi’ Domaratski my wife’s former drunken junkie room mate ‘you can’t rape the willing!’
The Athletic Department needed more evidence than the woman sharing the incident in a group session. No formal accusation, no incident report either with campus or Durham PD’s. Someone needed to develop more information, probably gaining an admission from the player to justify releasing him from his basketball scholarship.
Besides his potty mouth? :)
Link to Duke Chronicle article.
IOW, she sat on this for 10 months. She took it upon herself while working as an intern in the News and Communication Department to reveal an alleged rape allegation made by her supposed best friend framing it as the next big scandal?
Sounds fishy, but I do not have enough info to make a judgment one way or another. However, until facts are known, it's a non story.
Reading the article, anonymous affiliate talked with many people. Everyone was made aware. Yet the title of the NyPost article simply says Coach K waited 10 months to boot Suliamon. I would think they might mention Suliamon is still a student at Duke in good standing unless, of course, this is about Coach K and nothing else.
Why did they not question the nonaction of the University?
Yes, I like Coach K. Trying hard to keep that out of it. But unless there is more than an allegation ( a dime a dozen these days) besides talking to the player, what else is he supposed to do other than take Suliamon at his word?
Yes. and I think that because of jumping the gun on the LAX case ,when they got egg on their face, caution ruled this time.
Neither woman pursued a complaint with the Office of Student Conduct, according to the student newspaper.
Appearently no police reeport. Not sure what the issue is here. With little or NO evidence or complaintant it took 10 months to take action. Even criminal trails take longer then that to put together when you have a compaintant and evidence.......
Valid points but I was speaking to the reaction of the campus community. Wasn’t the WHOLE Duke LAX team suspended and forced to cancel the rest of the season and wasn’t the LAX coach was forced to resign?
YES. Because there was a complaintant, a criminal charge and a police investigation. None of which was present here.
