Netanyahu so wrong in confronting Obama, so right on Iran
The Times of Israel ^ | Sunday, March 1, 2015 | David Horovitz

Posted on 03/02/2015 2:45:29 PM PST by Star Traveler

With the US-Israel train wreck unavoidable on Tuesday, the challenge now is to pick up the pieces and refocus on thwarting Tehran

The prime minister has created the dismal situation whereby even his speech to AIPAC, a day prior to Tuesday’s address to Congress, becomes somewhat problematic. Not only are America’s legislators being asked to choose between their president and the Israeli prime minister, as the veteran administration official Dennis Ross observed at the weekend. But AIPAC’s 16,000-strong, overwhelmingly Jewish audience, in mightily applauding Netanyahu, will be seen by some critics as endorsing a stance against the White House — even though many of those 16,000 have no desire to be torn in this way.

Netanyahu’s handling of this face-off has been staggeringly inept, another activist volunteered, and it follows a pattern of his alienating of world leaders — including but not limited to Nicolas Sarkozy and Francois Hollande and Joe Biden — and of exacerbating problems for Jewish communities — notably those in Europe that he has been urging to immigrate to Israel en masse.

There’s a good deal of truth in these critiques. There’s a great deal of truth, too, in the assertions from critics at home that this trip, this poking of a finger in the eye of President Barack Obama, is a calculated electoral gambit, designed to bolster support for the ostensibly unflinching Netanyahu among right-wing voters back home, to prevent them from defecting to rival parties and denying him victory on March 17. There’s no doubting the political machinations that saw the Prime Minister’s Office release a short clip of Netanyahu [ ... ] filmed at the Western Wall ahead of this trip — co-opting Judaism’s holiest place of worship to his campaign.

I believe you’re getting David Horovitz mixed up with David Horowitz.

Here you go:

David Horovitz(born 12 August 1962) is a British-born Israeli journalist, author and speaker. He is the founding editor of The Times of Israel, a current affairs website based in Jerusalem that launched in February 2012. Previously, he had been the editor-in-chief of The Jerusalem Post.

David Joel Horowitz (born January 10, 1939) is an American conservative writer. He is a founder and current president of the think tank the David Horowitz Freedom Center, editor of FrontPage Magazine, and director of Discover the Networks, a website that tracks individuals and groups on the political left. Horowitz founded the organization Students for Academic Freedom, whose self-stated goal is combating what it calls the “leftist indoctrination” in academia.

I think Israel definitely had Democrat support in Congress. I believe Israel still does have bi-partisan support, despite what the Ehite House is trying to do.

Here’s the thing: Somone needs to stand up to Tehran, and it sure as Hell ain’t gonna be Barry, so who the Hell is left?

Hey, if Israel doesn’t want Bibi, then I’ll gladly trade Barry to them for Bibi.

And I’m not even Jewish!

NOW ... as to how far along we are, according to what the Bible says, I can’t tell right now. We could be a year from it all starting, as the Bible says, or perhaps a decade out. But I wouldn’t say it’s more than a couple of decades.

I know this is going to be hard to hear but that doesn't matter. You must pray. Above all, trust God. God is in control. Everything must unfold as planned.

I believe the time is short, so as hard as it is for my flesh, because I like to fret and worry, I have to follow my Lord's commands and do His will no matter what happens.

Pray for Israel. Pray for Netanyahu. Pray for America...

Too bad your actions don’t match your “credentials” - you seem to only show up here when there are events are going on with Israel and the Obama hacks at State. I smell a Foggy Bottom troll.

Turns out democrats are worried about the American Jewish voters being split.

I think this is one of the strongest motivators for democrat behavior before Netanyahu’s speech and currently.

Saudi pundit supports Netanyahu’s Congress address
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3263723/posts

Ahmad Al-Faraj calls Obama ‘one of the worst presidents in US history,’ accuses him of pursuing Iran deal for his own glory.

A columnist writing in the the Saudi daily Al-Jazirah expressed support Monday for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s determination to address Congress on Iran, even as the Israeli leader faced mounting criticism both at home and from Democratic lawmakers.

In his column, Ahmad Al-Faraj wrote that President Barack Obama, “one of the worst American presidents,” is working to sign a deal with Iran at the expense of America’s longtime allies in the Gulf. Netanyahu’s campaign against the deal, he continued, was therefore justified and it served the interests of the Gulf states.

“Netanyahu will devote his speech to expressing his firm objection to the signing of an agreement between the Obama administration and Iran on the nuclear issue. He hopes to convince the Congress members that he is right, which could delay the agreement,” wrote Faraj, according to a translation by the Middle East Media Research Institute, which monitors Arabic-speaking media outlets.

"The reason why you fail to see a problem with that is that you’re not following the election coming up in Israel. You’re looking at it from the perspective of someone in the American political system. The problem is ... and what you continually see Netanyahu DENY is that this is a PARTISAN ISSUE, because the opponents to Netanyahu in Israel are saying that Netanyahu is destroying this special relationship with the USA by making it a Partisan issue. The opposition is making this to be a CORE ISSUE of their campaign against him. If they succeed in getting the Jews in Israel to believe that ... then they stand a VERY GOOD CHANCE of DEFEATING NETANYAHU. You’ll notice that Netanyahu CONTINUALLY DENIES THIS ... and that’s because he knows he can lose on this one!"

Obama has treated Netanyahu miserably from day one. The Leftists hate him. At this point, nothing appears to indicate Netanyahu could care less about his reelection if it means the destruction of Israel. Israel is the focal point of The Islamic world. Iran swears to wipe her off the face of the earth. Why isn't Israel a part of these negotiations? Why is Obama keeping them completely out? Why should Israel trust Obama? Why shouldn't Netanyahu address the American people during these "treaty negotiations"? Because Israel is not a concern. To Obama and the Leftists, Israel is the problem. God forgive us.
