Ted Cruz spills secret of GOP amnesty sabotage
WND ^ | 03/01/2015 | Garth Kant

NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, strongly suggested the fix was in from the beginning by GOP leaders to sabotage the fight against Obama’s amnesty, saying, “The cake was baked from the start.”

The senator said that was evident to him immediately when GOP leaders chose a bill funding the Department of Homeland Security, or DHS, as the vehicle to try to stop the amnesty President Obama granted to five-million illegal immigrants by executive order in November.

Cruz made the observations while speaking to a small group of reporters across the street from the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC, on Thursday.

WND kicked off the conversation by asking: Why won’t GOP leaders fight amnesty?

If the GOP leadership had really wanted to stop amnesty, Cruz explained, they would not have attached the provision defunding Obama’s amnesty to the DHS funding bill.

They would have attached it to a bill defunding the Environmental Protection Agency, “or some other non-essential agency.”

He described such agencies as “hostages the GOP could afford to hold.”

What do YOU think? Where do GOP leaders really stand on amnesty for illegals? Sound off in the WND Poll.

Cruz insisted GOP leaders knew all along that rank-and-file Republicans would never vote to defund the DHS during a time of increasing terror threats at home and abroad.

Instead, he said, they chose a strategy that was clearly designed to fail.

Cruz said he is optimistic in the long run but pessimistic in the short term about stemming the flow of illegal immigrants.

He is pessimistic because “GOP leadership joined with (Senate Minority Leader) Harry Reid, D-Nev., to pass amnesty.” Cruz was referring to the move this week by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., to offer a “clean” bill funding the DHS, which meant dropping the provision in the bill that would have

Thanks Ted, but any thinking person already knew this after watching the treasonous GOP leadership since 2010.

I understand his pessimism. But aren’t there real steps we can take in the short term to fight this? For example, did Boehner ever send HR-240 to conference for reconciliation? And if not, are our Representatives applying pressure on Boehner to do so? What am I missing here?

Big biz bankrolls the political campaigns of those in office. Big biz has no desire to see their low wage golden goose killed.

The Communist/Socialist operating in our government understand how to divide the once united. Causing breakdowns in trust, choking off our social services and the economy in every aspect, such as driving down wages etc...

Those entering illegally will be allowed to vote and many are doing that already. These folks will vote for freebies, handouts, which allows government more and more control over them and their lives. And since biggov looted SS, and the national treasure, flooding the country with millions making low wage puts a temporary band-aid on tax revenue. But the standard of living continue to decline for middle America.

It breaks down nationalism and unity in the hinterlands. Chaos breeds more chaos. The globalist cabal want world order without borders. A centralized all encompassing world government and world central bank run by the super wealthy insiders. It’s all very real.

It just goes on and on.

There are already laws to deport illegals from this country. Just try getting the Kenyan Muslim Brotherhood creep in the White House to enforce them.

I used to get angry when I was younger whenever I heard a European call us out as “stupid” Americans. Sadly, they may be right. Check that they were right!

Glad to hear the "intelligent" Europeans had such insight and have avoided all the problems we face.

We could have defunded Global Warming Garbage at the same time.

Seems that even with the nobamagreencard, when a company hires them the company gets out of nobamacare because the illegal can’t join nobamacare and the illegal does not count toward the worker threashold.

So it a bigger discount than just lower wages for companies.

Yes, leave him alone.

He has nothing of substance, just some accusations, with no merit.

This was so obvious from the get-go. So they could say “We can’t defund the DHS now.”

Maybe I should have clarified my statement. Have you talked to a low information voter, or any Democrat in general lately?

This is ridiculous. The invaders are not falling from the sky! We know how they're coming in. Eisenhower had Operation Wetback, we put men on the moon, we're the United States of America! Or we used to be, dammit. We're supposed to throw up our hands and say, "Oh, dear, we can't stem the flow"? We damn well can, and in short order. Our so-called "leaders" just don't want to. Any time they say "we can't," what they're really saying is, "I don't want to."

Instead, he said, they chose a strategy that was clearly designed to fail.

More accurately, they chose a ruse designed to succeed, to succeed in appearing to do something while doing nothing to defund Obama's illegal alien amnesty. I'd love to be proven wrong this week.
