In spite of the Friday night passage of an eleventh hour, one-week stopgap spending bill to continue funding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the department posted a lapse-of-funding notice and shut-down procedures on its website apparently intended if the last minute efforts failed. While the notice is not listed on the home page, the blog, or the list of DHS publications, it was originally posted around nine o'clock Friday night and remained at this link as of the time of publication of this article:

So they are lying about not getting funding, imagine that-0 ANOTHER government agency holding the people’s safety hostage if they don’t get what they want.
Too incompetent to manage what they have already.
Been saying for two weeks that Obama will try to shut down Air Travel over this.
“Make’em feel the pain!”, doncha know, like closing the veterans Memorials during the last “Shut down”.
Not a damned ONE of them off the teat. Not now and not when they posted this. Teat suckers.
And, as Levin has said— “most of the federal govt. “shuts down” at 5 pm on Friday through 8 Am on Monday”.
They are ALL on the payroll with bennies. All doing, with some major exceptions, absolutely nada.
Sinecure for life, most of which ancillary— not point of the spear against terror or illegal immigrants.
Thanks George Bush for this MONSTROSITY!. When you have alpha soup, the individual letter agencies have individual lines of command that can be “lined out”. Get it?
The freeloading, public servants have their diapers in a wad again. Worried about not getting a “bonus” I guess. It’s time to ask yourself, if we shut down the DHS, would anyone notice? The answer is no.
Oh lawdy. I done got the vapors. Whatever shall we do?
You won’t notice because most of them are still required to go to work, despite the “shutdown.” While those exempted employees will eventually be paid for the work they did, the ones sitting at home will be paid for work they didn’t do.

Getting ready to “make it hurt”, as in the “sequester” debacle. These people will stop at nothing in their attempts to bully and control the American people.

I agree completely. It should be high on the to-do list of our next President.
