Who killed at CPAC, the GOP's red meat 2016 auditions?
LA Times ^ | February 29, 2015 | Doyle McManus

"...What was missing from CPAC? Any sign of the intellectual ferment in conservative think tanks about how to address the stagnant incomes of the American middle class. Most speakers stuck to more traditional fare: smaller government, lower taxes, less regulation. There are new ideas in the Republican Party, but this, it seems, was neither the time nor the place..."

From your lips to Gods’ ears. Although, I’d rather he was shot for treason.

Doyle,
I m sure the Republicans appreciate your advice on how to best win an election. You asked; “What was missing from CPAC?” Then proceeded to get a little snarky with your next two or three sentences. As you so inelegantly put it, most of the speakers were in favor of, “ smaller government, lower taxes, less regulation”. Well THAT, is exactly what will address a stagnant economy and raise the incomes of everyone and not just the rapidly disappearing middle class.
Thanks again for you advice. Even as silly as it was.

well, you’re over shooting your description of them...they are not communists - you’re pretty close on all the other, but they are not statists.

"...smaller government, lower taxes, less regulation."

Ah, these are the NEW ideas, they're only a couple of hundred years old. The old ideas are to turn power over to an authority (monarch, elite, demogogue, revolutionary) and they promise to make a better life for us. That's the hope and change of Obama, that the building blocks of liberalism, that's the fount of the OLD ideas.

Doyle, why not try the ideas that have been proven to lift the poor, create opportunities and provide justice to everyone who joins in?

Bigger government, more spending, more debt, more regulation aren’t the “new ideas”. In fact their getting pretty old and stale.

I think the frustration is very easy to understand:

- We elected Republicans and gave them both the House and the Senate; and yet still Obama is allowed to get away with lawlessness.

These are not tough minded leaders. If they were, they would be holding trials right now, and pushing again and again to punish Obama for his treason.

Worse, they capitulate with evil.

If the GOP wants to know why there is no enthusiasm, there it is.

Why, Doyle McManus, does your employer not release the tape it guards so jealously of hussein praising palestinian Jew hater rashid khalidi?

Such blatant hypocrisy doesn’t fit your narrative, eh?

A media liberal measures Republican success by how liberal they are. Naturally, he loves Jeb Bush. Shocker.

Agent Orange and Turkeyneck make me sad.

Agent Orange and Turkeyneck have shown time and time again they are willing to give aid and comfort to the enemy.
