SESSIONS VS. JEB: BATTLE FOR THE SOUL OF THE GOP
Breitbart ^ | February 27, 2015 | by MATTHEW BOYLE

Posted on 02/27/2015 3:22:38 PM PST by Jim Robinson

NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland — In a surprise speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) unloaded on former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush—systematically dismantling Bush’s push for amnesty and a massive increase in guest workers from around the world.

“Right now, there are two conferences—one of them in public where candidates are out there having to speak and defend and answer questions on their views and on their positions on important issues facing America,” Sessions said to open up his remarks to the Breitbart News-sponsored meet-and-greet with CPAC activists. “Many people at this conference here and watching it from abroad are evaluating them, judging them and asking themselves whether or not their visions, their ideas, their character will be used to advance the interests of the American people and this republic—and that’s the way it ought to be.”

However, Sessions cited a Washington Times article saying Mitt Romney’s former top fundraising aide Spencer Zwick, “praised Jeb Bush’s stance on immigration, saying the party should follow his lead if the party hopes to win back the White House.”

“If someone wants to be serious about running for president, they need to be in a similar place [to Bush],” Zwick said on a conference call with GOP donors organized by Americans for Tax Reform president Grover Norquist—a key figure at CPAC since he is a board member of the American Conservative Union (ACU). The ACU hosts CPAC every year, but the organization under new chairman Matt Schlapp has seen a shift away from the establishment wing of the GOP it had under old chairman Al Cardenas.

“I’ll tell you one thing: It’s the people of this country that run this country,” Sessions responded, pushing back against the donor community’s push for other Republican candidates to abandon their constituents...

The way to get those people to the polls for a Republican, Sessions points out, is to make it clear to the voters that the Republican nominee whoever it is will stick up for them over corporatists, special interests and foreign workers.

Then Juan Ernesto Bush is out of consideration.

Not sure if I believe CPAC is shifting away from The Cheap Labor Express.
Those other names in this paragraph have been identified by real conservatives as the cancer within the GOP.

I’m pretty sure the GOP is dead.

If: Jeb

Then: I’m right

So, what difference does it make?

Hmmmm, seems like I’ve heard that somewhere before.

They can't, because they don't.

If the GOP is unwilling to side with the citizens, the rule of law and American sovereignty they will disappear as fast as the Whigs did.

The illegal aliens already have the Democrats representing them, The GOP is representing their employers.

No one is representing the citizens.

That has to change.

“Bush, during his interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity on stage at CPAC, accused those who have the viewpoint widespread increases in immigration would hurt American workers—people including Sessions—of having liberal viewpoints.”

Can you believe that? That sounds like one of those outrageous lies that routinely come from the White House. Well, Mark Levin, National Review say that Bush wants the same thing as Obama.

This issue should be a no-brainer.

Illegal aliens are law-breakers and a threat to our national-security.

All Republicans have to do is frame the issue in terms of the Rule of Law.

How can any politician be in support of such a dystopian viewpoint?

“In my dreams we elect Jeff Sessions President and restore the rule of law.”

A nightmare as this is the same supposed conservative who approved Holder becoming AG and embraced him profusely with praise.

Quote: Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama, for example, said he was sure that Mr. Holder would be “a responsible legal officer and not a politician.”

Unquote

“We need a Jeff Sessions for President grassroots movement!”

No way. He is incapable of surrounding himself with competent people.

He proved it in voting in Eric Holder and actually went out of his way to praise him.

IN what world would this be good for America?

Jim —

Thank you for posting this. Thank you for your service. I hope you are well.

Every time I hear (from people like Jeb Bush) that we can not deport 11 Million illegals, i bristle. I have the plan. It is no secret. It is the same as how someone eats an elephant - one bite at a time. I agree that 11 Million can’t be deported tomorrow, but we can start deporting one at a time. We may not remove all of them, but there will be less than there are now. I believe that is the political problem we have - no one has the courage to follow the law.

In Oklahoma, on the later edges of prohibition, Oklahoma was a dry state in which all liquor was illegal. A man was selected to enforce rigidly the alcohol laws. He did. He later became a Judge based on his adherence to the law. He raided, and infiltrated, and did his job - one bite at a time. I had the pleasure of talking to him about it before his death. He would never take “We can’t” as an answer.

I truly believe that if more people were like Sessions the problem wouldn’t exist in a few years.

I’ve often reflected about the power with which Jeff Sessions speaks on this issue. Although I thought it was wrong to deny him an appointment to the federal bench, the Democrats shot themselves in the foot in the long term. If he was a federal Judge, he would not be a stalwart advocate in the Senate. Sometimes things work out in the fullness of time.

Thank you for allowing this forum.

All my best,

Gwjack

Well, that was before Holder proved him wrong.
Gentlemen like Sen. Sessions sometimes are too genteel and give the benefit of the doubt to those undeserving.

Jeff Sessions has been the one Senator standing for the citizens for years against amnesty. The Cheap Labor Express has been trying to pass McCain/Kennedy/Gang-of-Rubio since 2006. Sessions has been the stalwart against every attempt at “Comprehensive Screwing Americans Out Of Their Country”

You obviously like Sessions for what you think he might do.

I see his actions in affirming the worst AG in our history.

Think what damage he might do if he has to nominate all those federal judges and cabinet members.

Leave him in the Senate like we left Ted Kennedy.

Senators are hired to offer an opinion, not to run a country.

He had lots of company, most of the GOP voted for Holder.

I don’t think he would run so it’s only a dream.

Jebbish is the designated loser for the GOP this round.
