More Lois Lerner Emails Recovered: ‘No One Will Ever Believe That Both ... Within a Week’

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee announced on Thursday night that hundreds of former IRS official Lois Lerner’s previously “lost” backup tapes have been recovered, which could result in the recovery of a new trove of her emails.

IRS Deputy Inspector General Timothy P. Camus told Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) on Thursday that it took investigators just two weeks to recover 424 backup tapes that were previously said to be unretrievable.

“To date, we have found 32,744 unique emails that were backed up from Lois Lerner’s email box. We are in the process of comparing these emails to what the IRS has already produced to Congress to determine if we did in fact recover any new emails,” Camus said, according to the Washington Times.

In one of the new emails, Lerner apparently wrote, “No one will ever believe that both your hard drive and mine crashed within a week of each other.”

Anyone in jail?

Cummings’ letters still there?

Trail to terrorists still there?

Anyone in jail, yet?

Actually, there was tape at the Watergate, but not magnetic tape. It was duct tape on certain door latches.

Your knowledge of history is flawed: there were no “tapes at the Watergate hotel”. The issue was an 18 minute gap in the White House taping system that was believed to be a discussion of a coverup concerning the Watergate breakin.

If memory serves me, the Watergate burglars used a strip of tape over the lock to keep the door from locking them inside, and the tape was noticed by a security guard, leading to their arrest.

Where are our Representatives? Aren’t they interested in crimes against the People anymore?

Why were we so intent on chasing down Nixon and his administration for violating their oaths of office and yet so uninterested in pursuing the crimes we have in front of us?

How much treason will it take?

I read that the White House is claiming that because the IRS passed out confidential tax payer information, they cannot turn over emails pertaining to that. Possible criminal activity found.

So that email was sent before the hard drives crashed?

Because otherwise it wouldn’t have been a missing email.

It’s nice to know ahead of time when a hard drive is going to crash.

Using the IRS as a political weapon in domestic politics, is the equivalent of using a weapon of mass destruction in a conventional war. She deserves to be put in front of a firing squad...after her trial and conviction.

Or it could be casual conversation of what actually happened. I’d like to see the entire email thread.

Depends on if it occurred before or after the failure of said hard drives.

Everyone....and I mean absolutely everyone...including Obuma....knew these existed someplace. In other words....they lied to him when they said they could never be found.

But it doesn't matter. In his little world, it's just another...so what...

The woman compromised the presidential election and she is still running around free? There is no urgency regarding the intimidation tactics of the IRS against US citizens?

lol - that’s a very good point.

How could that email be among those that were lost during a HD crash? It would mean that they ‘lost’ the emails during preparation for testimony. It would seem to prove that these conversations were deliberately scuttled.

Why the hell is the IRS allowed to pick through the emails for weeks before turning them over?

“No one will ever believe that both your hard drive and mine crashed within a week of each other.”

I anxiously await that nearing day where this apparatchik Lerner is stripped of her pensions and photos are released of her in an orange jump suit doing the perp-walk.

As I inferred in my introductory comment, if anyone were to be convicted for any of this rampant corruption during the Obama administration, Zero would pardon them so quickly it would make your head spin. However, if anyone were convicted after a republican president were sworn in, they’d spend at least 4 years in jail.

“Could indictments be far off?”

Who would prosecute them? Loretta Lynch? Hah! She was selected to be a roadblock to justice.

I thought that might get mixed up.

I had meant the tape the burglars used on one of the doors to keep it from locking, that was seen by a security guard, that then led to them getting caught.
