The National Police on Friday detained eight Spaniards suspected of fighting alongside pro-Russian forces in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The arrests took place in Asturias, Catalonia, Extremadura, Murcia, Navarre and Madrid. Three of the suspects are former members of the Spanish armed forces, and one is confirmed to have been on the frontline, according to anti-terrorist sources. The men are all aged between 20 and 30 years old.
The eight Spaniards belong to several different communist organizations, and had received support from an unofficial pro-Russian European network. The operation was completed after three of the men returned to Spain during February the last of the men arrived last week.
Police sources have not yet stated whether Rafael Muñoz Pérez, 27, and Ángel Davilla-Rivas, 22, were among the detainees. The pair were last year confirmed to have joined the Vostok Batallion, under the orders of Igor Strelkov, the head of the Armed Forces of the Peoples Republic of Donetsk.
The identification of the detainees was facilitated by the suspects habit of posting photos of themselves with military equipment on social networking sites

There have been a lot of foreign volunteers on both sides of this conflict.
Seems to be quite a number of Serbs fighting alongside the Russians. No idea what Serbian law (if any) says about this.
It makes a difference which side you are fighting for, our side, or for the enemy, Spain is a part of our NATO alliance, and these traitors were supporting Russia.
“Seems to be quite a number of Serbs fighting alongside the Russians.”
Serbs, French, Pro-Russian Chechens, Spanish, Hungarians, a few Brits, a few Italians, Greeks, a couple of Indians, and even an American from Texas.
On the other side, we’ve seen a couple of Americans (not advisors, but volunteers. One was killed a few months ago.), Poles, at least a couple of Bulgarians, some Somali’s, Anti-Russian Chechens, and a few anti-Russian Jihadi’s.
The Kolomoiski and Tartur Merc Battalions (Donbas/Dnepro) seem to have many foreigners in them.
“our side”
“Our side” being the Pro-Obamunist, Pro-Soros, Pro-Corrupt Oligarchs, right?
No Jane Fonda, our side being the United States and NATO against Russian aggression.
lol...
Pretty arrogant of you to think that Obama and Soros are on “America’s side”, isn’t it??
Let’s not forget, Chechen Muslim Battalions are fighting for Russia too. Yes, apparently, they are on both sides. http://news.sky.com/gallery/1389941/ukraine-chechen-death-battalion.
OSCE or others need to observe the border and shut it down.
We have men and materials having to be moved forward to protect us from the Russians, with new military formations being formed to react quickly to wherever they threaten next, and here you are playing Jane Fonda.
Russia should really let those states like Chechnya secede, the demographics going on in that country and people talk about France??

Although, this is not what this conflict is about, it’s been said, Russia could survive as a non-Muslim nation quite a bit longer if it was united with Ukraine.
Ah, what a surprise :)))
I wonder If these are the same clowns with funny mustaches that Kremlin propaganda were using as a kind of freak show last year... I guess they wanted to give it “international anti-fascist movement” outlook or something... but apparently they finally realized it was too stupid even by their (your) standards, so they pushed them off the payroll list.
Story updated: Communists and Nazis are fighting for the Russians. http://elpais.com/elpais/2015/02/27/inenglish/1425051026_915897.html That’s what these Spaniards say.
