Funding for the department expires at midnight on Friday.

Boehner doesn't appear to be going along with his Republican counterparts in the Senate, where Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is looking to avert a shutdown by offering Democrats a clean funding bill for DHS. The speaker would not say whether he would back a Senate funding bill without provisions that would defund President Obama's executive actions on immigration. At one point, Boehner blew kisses at reporters after they asked whether he would.

McConnell had attempted to push through a House-passed funding bill four times, but Senate Democrats blocked it each time because of the immigration language.
"Yesterday, the White House press secretary said that this was a fight amongst Republicans. It is not a fight amongst Republicans," Boehner said on Thursday. "All Republicans agree that we want to fund the Department of Homeland Security and we want to stop the president's actions in response to immigration."

We don't give him money like the lobbyist do.
Here is his chance to prove that he is not a made man.
“McConnell had attempted to push through a House-passed funding bill four times, but Senate Democrats blocked it each time because of the immigration language.”
And should have either passed it by reconciliation or just kept bringing it to the floor and every time the Dims voted it down, appear before the cameras and scream that Dingy Harry is “shutting down DHS”.
Barack Obama can't either.
If we're afraid to fight we deserve to lose.

Is it true that the House can amend the Bill, then send it to the Senate where it will automatically get an up or down vote, thus avoiding a cloture vote?
Yet.
Is this a new John Boehner? Stick to your guns Mister Speaker!
It’s about time the Pubs reject the media narrative that any fake government shutdown must be the Pub’s “fault” and the public will blame them, regardless of circumstance or recent evidence to the contrary. Maybe Boehner has realized it didn’t hurt them last time. Now if McConnell would get the message and stop living in terror of a phony “shutdown”.
If BO is blackmailing so many members of Congress, they need to impeach him for his crimes and get rid of him. He won’t have power over them when he is removed from office.
He’s still got another 24 hours.
Reconciliation is when they take bills from the House and Senate on the same subject and combine them, ironing out the differences. Those can be sent to a vote in the Senate without a debate, so they only need a majority, not 60 votes. And spending bills need to originate in the House. What the Senate did for Obamacare was gut out every bit of a completely unrelated House bill, then insert Obamacare into it, so they could claim the Senate bill “originated” in the House and avoid a filibuster because they no longer had 60 votes due to the special election of Scott Brown. Of course Mitch would never do such a thing to his “friends” across the isle.

My point: In the end, Bonehead will conclude with wise ol' Mitch that they need to SUPPORT and move ahead on all the DHS funding.
He’ll cave, and it’s the end of the Republic, and with it, liberty. The shitheads will govern for 30 or 40 years, at least, and at the end, America will no longer exist as a nation. Even now, it’s no more than a ‘... geographical expression ..’, without defining borders. This one vote is what’s been looming on the horizon since the 1950’s and Operation Wetback.
Third party yet, or is it a waste of time?
The president is fighting to take away American jobs and give them to illegals.
This is the “American jobs first for Americans” bill.
