SECRET NEW INTERNET RULES LOOM FOR AMERICANS

Feds look to adopt 322 pages of fresh taxes, regulations; FCC Chair Refuses to Testify before Congress

Another wild power-grab. Power without accountability. The net is the very last frontier for free speech.

— Despite google algorithms that consistently render — day in day out, year in year out — always render left-wing sites on first page search results; — Despite filters that block my site and sites like mine (Jihad Watch, The Religion of Peace, Creeping Sharia, Sharia Unveiled, et al) at work, school, and even US army bases and government agencies; — Despite search engines refusing to include news sites like mine in the news searches; — Despite the fact that the mainstream broadcast and print media, with the exception of the tepid Fox News, are notoriously left; — Despite the fact that we are a mere fly buzzing around the mammoth head of the mainstream media; — Despite the fact that they should win by overwhelming numbers because it’s David vs. Goliath; They fail, because their ideas fail.

Which is why they must destroy us.

“The issue is not slavery for a “good” cause versus slavery for a “bad” cause; the issue is not dictatorship by a “good” gang versus dictatorship by a “bad” gang. The issue is freedom versus dictatorship.” — Ayn Rand

FCC Chair Refuses to Testify before Congress ahead of Net Neutrality Vote, The Corner, February 25, 2015 by Andrew Johnson February 25, 2015 (thanks to Van)

Two prominent House committee chairs are “deeply disappointed” in Federal Communications Commission chairman Tom Wheeler for refusing to testify before Congress as “the future of the Internet is at stake.” Wheeler’s refusal to go before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday comes on the eve of the FCC’s vote on new Internet regulations pertaining to net neutrality. The committee’s chairman, Representative Jason Chaffetz (R., Utah), and Energy and Commerce Committee chairman Fred Upton (R., Mich.) criticized Wheeler and the administration for lacking transparency on the issue. “So long as the chairman continues to insist on secrecy, we will continue calling for more transparency and accountability at the commission,” Chaffetz and Upton said in a statement. “Chairman Wheeler and the FCC are not above Congress.” The vote on the new Internet regulations is scheduled for Thursday. The FCC’s two Republican commissioners have asked Wheeler to delay the vote to allow more time for review. The changes would allow the commission to regulate the Internet like a public utility, setting new standards that require the provision of equal access to all online content. -

My feeling is that it will be made _criminal_ to attempt to hide one’s activities. Simple things like encrypting communications will be looked upon as possible terrorism.

Good thing we've got the most transparent administration in history.

Comcast certainly owns congress and the state politicians, too. I can only get internet through Comcast in my neighborhood for $53 a month. I can get it through AT&T but I have to pay for a landline. There was a time when there was competition from numerous companies. But over the years two giants have taken over.

I’m about to check out buying a tablet and using Consumer Cellular for the internet. I just need to see exactly how much data I’ll need and what it’ll cost. If it’s comparable I’ll cancel Comcast. I wonder how long before Consumer Cellular is put out of business.

This is problem a bit late for a refresher on usenet, proxy servers, tunneling, encryption, etc., but does anyone want to give it a try?

Yup. Former FCC commissioner Michael Powell predicted a 2 1/2 to 5 year court battle is looming.

Congress does not have the votes to override Obama’s veto.

Ways to win here are by court injunction citing APA violations similar to the Executive Amnesty Injunction or bypassing FCC by going to offshore servers. Any attempt to shutdown incoming traffic could be met by court injunction on 1st Amendment grounds and by forming an effective underground.

The idea for the current injunction against Executive Amnesty originated from internet activity leading to a less than minute chance encounter with Texas AG now Governor Abbott. So the internet is powerful and is a force to be reckoned with.

Oh, how I agree with you! This state of affairs isn’t all the fault of Liberal leaning people. The time to march on Washington arrived a long time ago; but for the people of this time and country, that’s just too hard. It might entail a little discomfort, sacrifice or expense. It might even mean going to jail unless there are sufficient numbers to make that a non starter. I’ve watched pretty much every one of my champions get cold feet and bow to this travesty of an administration; even though it’s plain and admitted by our President that the America I love and cherish is outmoded and shameful in his eyes and he means to destroy it.

Now, he’s going to disarm the last puny little pockets of resistance that remain; namely, the keyboard warriors. At this point, I really don’t see much hope. They don’t make us like they used to.

On this issue they just might.

This is all part of Soros setting up the NWO. He’s going to fry like bacon later.

Why later? He might be a target of opportunity at some point.

Shotguns do little to armored vehicles...

But proper equipment and planning enable you to cook the contents!

...and Apache helicopters.

If you believe that our Apache pilots would willingly turn their craft against us, then is it not time to start finding them in preemptive self-defense?

REALLY? Now, come on, my FRiend. You expect D.C. to give even an INCLINATION that what they do, the ‘Laws’ they pass, are illegal/unconstitutional??

Hell, I’d pay good $$ to see ANY MSM ask as many Congress-critters as possible, where the authority to create the FCC resides? What Article allowed Congress to delegate power to ANYTHING else (aside from those noted) when We the People have NEVER approved?
