Saudis ‘would let Israeli jets use their air space to attack Iran’
The Times of Israel ^ | February 25, 2015

Saudi Arabia is prepared to let Israeli fighter jets use its airspace if it proves necessary to attack Iran’s nuclear program, an Israeli TV station reported Tuesday, highlighting growing ties in the shadow of Tehran’s nuclear drive.

Riyadh’s only condition is that Israel make some kind of progress in peace talks with the Palestinians, Channel 2 reported Tuesday, citing an unnamed senior European source.

“The Saudi authorities are completely coordinated with Israel on all matters related to Iran,” the European official in Brussels said.

Jerusalem and Riyadh do not have diplomatic ties, but unconfirmed reports have swirled for years of coordination between them against the common enemy of Iran, a partnership that may ramp up should the world powers reach a reportedly emerging deal that would allow Tehran to continue enriching some uranium.

“Saudis ‘would let Israeli jets use their air space to attack Iran’ “

They did the same thing when Saddam Hussein threatened Saudi Arabian with his invasion of Kuwait.

I find it almost funny that they want to keep ISIS out of their country, as if they’re some great moral society.

These savages do beheadings, stonings, etc. - I don’t see how they’re very different. I guess it’s ok when they’re doing the slaughtering.

It just shows that the Saudis, with all their oil money, are unable to protect themselves.

Perhaps the Israelis can bring some culture to that country.

This strikes me as something the Saudis would not want to be made public, or even speculated.

Correct. It could cost them terribly, possibly even initiate a coup. That would then remove the option, which would be very bad for Israel. Hence, for this newspaper to publish it is unbelievably stupid, even outright treasonous.

If there is cooperation, fine. But make it known only, and maybe, after the fact, and only with the consent of parties involved in the operation.

I think never is a better idea.

It shows that the House of Saud has seen the writing on the wall as the Mullahs of Iran hates them and always have since 1979! The House of Saud also opposed keeping oil over $100 dollars a barrel and opposed cutting production quotes. I believe the final straw for the House of Saud was the fall of the former government of Yemen to Iranian backed rebels!

What an extraordinarily dumb thing to publish. Why don’t they just draw the Iranians a map?

The story is out there I’m sure but as to what to make out of it?

Saudis would allow this if the Israelis improve relations with the Palestinians? We will see.

Why would this information be made public? Who stands to gain from releasing this?

This is a classic example of the old Arabic saying. “The enemy of my my enemy is my friend.”

Sure they will, the Saudis are shaking in their boots. They know full well Iran has the house of Saud in their scope.

“...if it proves necessary to attack Iran’s nuclear program...”

It was necessary five years ago, but, then, America’s Chief Executive is a Moslem cheeleaderand an Iranian stooge.

"third, we in USA need to keep in mind that we are still the Iranian IslamoNazis’ number one “Great Satan” target, and why Iran is also building ICBM delivery missiles (and adding to its navy to give it a trans-oceanic penetration capacity)"

The price of a SINGLE nuke explosion on US Soil is the complete elimination of every Iranian city and every Iranian.

The mullahs, everyone. Dogs and lizards. Roaches. Ants.

Because they are warning the US that perhaps we are a part of the Iranian axis, should they agree to allow Iran the bomb.

I don’t see how we keep the KSA as an ally if we do this deal with the Iranians.

"The price of a SINGLE nuke explosion on US Soil is the complete elimination of every Iranian city and every Iranian."

I think that sentiment might carry over to those in the US who aren't necessarily Iranian, but have demonstrated a sympathy or indifference to Iranian efforts.

I've been saying this for years, since an Israeli AF general (IIRC) visited several Saudi airbases - airbases that just happened to be well situated as forward staging bases for a strike into Iran.

Israel can't do it alone. The distances are just too great, and they don't have the resources for an effective attack package, escort fighters, tankers, fighter protection for the tankers and support aircraft, SAM suppression, and keeping a reserve at home. However, if they gain access to an airfield or three as forward staging bases, and an ally that will fly support missions such as SEAD... Then suddenly striking Iran's nuclear facilities becomes very, very workable.

Why would the Saudis allow this? Several reasons. One, Iran is not Arab. There is contention between the Imams in the two countries over who should be viewed as the "leaders" of Islam. Finally, and most importantly, Saudi realizes that if an Iranian WMD goes off in a holy city in Israel, Israel will strike back and turn the Islamic holy cities of Mecca and Medina into glass-topped self-lighting parking lots. Mecca and Medina happen to be in Saudi Arabia, and the Saudis know they cannot stop Israel if they want to do that. The Saudis see themselves as the conservators and protectors of Islam and the holy sites - basically all other considerations are secondary. If that means helping Israel take a shot at Iran to set them back, so that Iran can't do anything stupid that puts Mecca at risk...so be it. The Saudis can be extremely practical and pragmatic when necessary. It's necessary.

That’s the same response israel will give to an iranian Attack, of course. (and the israeli response is far more certain than any response at a under the obama regime). Plus the Arabs would launch their best possible response to any attacks on them - and the Saudis could use Pakistani bombs
