The Toys R Us store in Ferguson, which was burglarized during last year’s unrest, will close at the end of March, the company confirmed Tuesday.
The store, open since 1989, will close “to prepare for the sale of the property,” said company spokeswoman Alyssa Peera.
The store was “not meeting the needs of the business,” Peera said. “That is separate from the events that took place,” she added, referring to the protests and looting.
“We have enjoyed serving the Ferguson community for many years. At this time, we do not have any plans for a new store in the Ferguson area,” she said.
The store is at 10895 West Florissant Avenue, near Interstate 270. Peera noted other Toys R Us stores, including locations in Chesterfield and Sunset Hills, remain in the St. Louis area.
The 46,000-square-foot Ferguson store employs 36 people. The company said it will place as many as possible at its other stores.

No it wasn't separate, it was the same thing. Even if it wasn't specifically the riot, the store was still in Ferguson, Missouri. The same people who were protesting and rioting were there every day previously as customers. Or more likely, were not there as customers. To say that it had nothing to do with the riot just says it was doomed anyway because it was still located in Ferguson, MO.
I’m sure Obama’s Justice Department will try to force them to rebuild.
Or whatever department handles that type of enforcement.
Well if you open a store charging through the roof for toys maybe you should pick an area that can support and not loot or burn down the business.
They shut the one here years ago to move to an outer suburb. It was vacant until recently - now the location is a new car dealership - they didn't even bother to paint the building.

It may take a decade, but it’ll be a place where people avoid. Business-wise, other than gas stations and a few booze-shops, I don’t see much there as time goes by.
I hope the blacks are happy with their free stuff—No Peace means no jobs! When inflation hits your welfare will dry up as well. When starvation comes they might just compete with illegals for the $3 an hour, hard labor jobs.
Nor does anybody else, with the possible exception of the Free at Last Bail Bond Company. (Seriously, there is such an Atlanta enterprise.)

Dayton, Ohio never recovered from those nationwide race riots as they were called back then. Today, Dayton is a shell of the GEM City that had over 1M jobs and taxpayers to today when the tax payers number about 345K. The population of Dayton corresponding suffers from the White Flight that took place, and as the residents left so did the manufacturing when Unions demanded too much.
Oh, you can make book that the insurance rates on the other stores will go sky high. The insurance companies are not going to lose money. They are in business to make money, not lose money. If you cost them this year, they just raise your rate next year to make up for it. But the City of Ferguson kissed the criminal’s asses, so in the end.....
