Toys R Us to close in Ferguson (Missouri)
St Louis Post Dispatch ^ | Feb, 24, 2015 | Jim Gallagher 47

The Toys R Us store in Ferguson, which was burglarized during last year’s unrest, will close at the end of March, the company confirmed Tuesday.

The store, open since 1989, will close “to prepare for the sale of the property,” said company spokeswoman Alyssa Peera.

The store was “not meeting the needs of the business,” Peera said. “That is separate from the events that took place,” she added, referring to the protests and looting.

“We have enjoyed serving the Ferguson community for many years. At this time, we do not have any plans for a new store in the Ferguson area,” she said.

The store is at 10895 West Florissant Avenue, near Interstate 270. Peera noted other Toys R Us stores, including locations in Chesterfield and Sunset Hills, remain in the St. Louis area.

The 46,000-square-foot Ferguson store employs 36 people. The company said it will place as many as possible at its other stores.

Who didn't see this coming and more?

Good luck to those employees going to the other stores. They're a long way from the ghetto and the MetroLink doesn't go to Chesterfield.

All the talk about "food deserts" or "lack of jobs" or "nothing to do" that Negroes complain about?

I wonder why that is? Why do all the good things seem to move away from their neighborhoods?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm?

At this time, we do not have any plans for a new store in the Ferguson area . . .

Nor does anybody else, with the possible exception of the Free at Last Bail Bond Company. (Seriously, there is such an Atlanta enterprise.)

Looting and rioting?

It does come with a logical cost.

Thinking ahead and avoiding hysterical and threatening behavior?

Priceless!

Failure to think ahead?

Joblessness, storelessness, hopelessness (sadly).

.

**The store was “not meeting the needs of the business,**

And what about burning and looting prevents those needs from being met?</sarc>

The companies know they have to kiss al sharpton on the butt, like Randy had to do on South Park with JJ after missing the correct answer of “naggers” to the question of “someone who is annoying”.

I actually believe them when they say this was not related to last year’s violence and looting. Toys R Us has been closing stores in many areas in recent years - one of the two in my area closed a couple of years ago.

The democRAT governor sure didn’t help by holding back the National Guard when the thugs started rioting. That sent a very bad message to business owners besides the victims who were robbed.

I understand that QT will not reopen.
Bet it will also be more difficult to find beauty supplies like hair and nails as well.
And who would want to open a liquor store there?
