I wish Dubya had done it a lot more often. He just let people say anything that came out of their hateful little pea brains. It hurt his presidency more than if he had been more pugnacious about the lies and the liars.
We got a glimpse of Obama's style during the 2008 debates when Obama would use remaining time on a question to respond to a criticism made 30 minutes earlier. Obama won't let any perceived slight go by, no matter how small.

David Corn is not a liberal. DC is a wack job. If you want to use him, and Mother Jones, to bash O’Reilly you are sad.
Well you certainly have your opinion but the released archived videos of the events in the Falklands and the statement from Dan Browne, NBC's Miami bureau chief who oversaw the network's coverage of the brief war make your opinion irrelevant...........
I do too.......
You mean you “couldn’t care less.” If you “could care less” it means you still have a certain amount of care left for the parties involved. Sorry for being the language fascist.
Corn is a nutless commie.
>> Corn is a liberal! <<
No, he’s not really a liberal. He’s hard left.
I bet he never even heard the distant gunfire. Was he drinking then or romancing the senoritas?
Me too. ;)
Not. O'Reilly was never near a war zone and by the way was also never near the house when the friend of Oswald supposedly committed suicide. But O'Reilly is a liar and blowhard and everyone knows that.
The people in the MSM attacking O’Reilly don't care about the wording of an event over 30 years ago. Their motivations are ideology, jealousy and attacking Fox and conservatives.
But...but...
A.) O’Reilly was (per his quotes from WaPo and the CNN article that I gave a link to”
“on the ground” ... (he was on the ground in Buenos Aires, not the Falkland Islands)
... “in a combat zone” (there was no combat zone, just a riot in Buenos Aires)
... “From El Salvador to the Falkland Islands.” (O’Reilly was not on the ground to or in the Falkland Islands)
David Corn didn’t lie.
B.) What O’Reilly said was presented, and O’Reilly responded with:
C.) “I never said I was on the Falkland Islands as Corn purports. I said I covered the Falklands War, which I did.”
That was a false retort/Straw Man response from O’Reilly.
Then O’Reilly used not a bait-and-swith, but a switch-and-bait:
D.) He switched to Argentina after the Straw Man response and then conflated the two (Argentina and the Falkland Islands).
Like I’ve already said, I don’t think CBS News has any choice but to fire him...
Read post #75 from me. If you would defend Bill after that, then you will defend Bill no matter what.
BTW, Bill O’Reilly bashed himself, and was called on it, and he lashed out big-time against a New York Times reporter and Corn.
But you gotta love O’Reilly’s switch-and-bait...
That would be an even bigger story than his exaggerating because he makes a big deal about writing his own books, and his name is on that book.
That may indeed be true, but O’Reilly is hardly a conservative.
It is ironic to see people here deflecting to Corn being hard-left/a liberal, ignoring that aspect of O’Reilly, while acting as if people need to circle the wagons for him.
Ignore the CINO and the quotes given by WaPo and CNN, ignore how he responded to Corn and ignore his later switch-and-bait and attack the liberal -— that is what we see from some here.
And read post #75 from me if you have the chance. Thanks.
I guess it all comes down to ratings and making a buck for whomever employs you as an opinion-based host...
If so, then what Brian Williams did in taking a, ahem, cough, “leave of absence” will be the last time anyone does that.
Instead, they can just do what O’Reilly did.
Perhaps “truthiness” does rule the day at some places on cable news?
