Ted Cruz: Senate will be complicit in ‘lawlessness’ if Lynch is confirmed as AG

Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas Republican, laid out his case against Loretta Lynch, President Obama’s nominee to be the next U.S. attorney general, in a new piece in which he says senators will be approving “lawlessness” if they confirm her.

He cited answers he deemed insufficient during Ms. Lynch’s confirmation process on issues like how she would be different from Attorney General Eric Holder and whether she supported Mr. Obama’s recent executive actions on immigration.

“No senator who takes his or her oath of office seriously should vote to confirm such a nominee,” he wrote in Politico. “And Senate Republicans have all the authority we need to reject this nomination.”

Only thing I want to understand is WINNING. Everything else is irrelevant. That is what Coach Vince Lombardi preached when Packers were the dominant team.

Highly pure conservative candidates do us no good if they keep losing elections. They can’t write a single bill in congress. Ask Mourdock, Akin and Cuchinelli how many conservative bills they have sponsored in the US congress. All 3 are very good men with excellent conservative credentials. Ted Cruz needs to focus on issues which people vote for, and not feel good issues. We direly need Cruz to win presidency. He will not win it by spending time on Lynch.

Purity has nothing to do with it. The point is substance.

I’m not trying to explain to you the difference between conservatism and a purer form of conservatism. I’m trying to explain the difference between conservatism and liberalism.

Cruz goes after Lynch for an actual reason: he believes she will be very damaging for our country.

If all you can do is think in terms of political gain, you belong with the other side.
