Indiana elementary students write letters parroting anti-Pence union rhetoric

NEW CASTLE, Ind. – Should teachers be allowed to use students as props for their personal political causes?

It happens all the time in school districts around the nation, particularly at the secondary level. Local teacher unions will protest the lack of a new collective bargaining agreement with a school board, and the next thing you know, high school and middle school kids are walking out of class in support of the teachers.

Who do you suppose gets the students all riled up?

But now some teachers are apparently willing to involve elementary-aged children in their labor wars. Or at least that seems to be the case in one Indiana classroom.

Teachers should be fired for politicizing their classroom work....treat them just like one would if they brought religion into the classroom. They’d be gone in a heartbeat.

If this is true, the teacher should be fired.

Indoctrination has to start at an early age. The Dems have to keep the assembly line of brainwashed dupes going.

OK.
Get that by the union...

Therein is the problem...the union will always support the teacher in using their “charges” to advance the union.

Fired? Your sentiment makes me chuckle! /sarc

I could support Pence. His term is not up until after the 2016 election.

Feminists and socialists (actually much of feminism is just an offshoot of socialism) capture of the public education system (and of higher education) has rendered them merely tools of political indoctrination.

That is why the most liberal nanny states (like Maryland) up the hurdles to discourage home schooling. Between education and media, it is all about indoctrinating the masses, and MANUFACTURING consent. That is why “Democracy” is encouraged and why a “Republic governed by a Constitution” that guarantees certain rights is being eroded.

“Progressive” thought control (using the media and education systems) works to turn citizens into sheep who will vote to give up their inalienable rights.

I always thought this was interesting, in its take on mass education and mass media:

If this is true, the teacher should be fired.

Not only fired, but prosecuted for child abuse.

he employed children to do his dirty work, violating child labor laws and not paying them a “living wage” either.

some things have to be considered here before going off the rails.

sure, I think it's despicable for a teacher to be using classroom time for such subjects. this isn't what I'm paying for, anyone with half a brain can see this for the self-serving BS that it is.

However, I tend to welcome this sort of debauchery. See, this sort of thing exposes the teacher to my rebuttal and opportunity to teach my kids the WHOLE story. Logic and truth always win in my home. Most of what I've dealt with is "climate change" rhetoric mixed in with the whole presidential election propoganda. Now, I get emails from the teacher about my oldest son rebutting her in class.... and I have to laugh every time.

Also, for kids who's parents would NOT intervene, you almost have to assume what their adult political and ethical leanings will be... you can't stop that or change it until they see the truth themselves.

This is an opportunity to teach our kids a valuable lesson... not only by debunking BS when it arises, but more importantly, to show them just how disingenuous people can be... the importance of skepticism and how to spot an activist from a mile away.

I say, bring it on. It only makes my kids stronger in the end.

It seems like common core has lessons in just this type of lessons in activism. This lesson has all the earmarks of it.

Indiana rebranded, not repealed common core.
