GENEVA (AP) — The United States and Iran are working on a two-phase deal that clamps down on Tehran's nuclear program for at least a decade before providing it leeway over the remainder of the agreement to slowly ramp up activities that could be used to make weapons.

So if Bibi attacks Iran (while he is addressing Congress) does that mean that Israel will sacrifice their youth and treasury and citizen services and infrastructure on their own?

Or will Americans be expected to do the heavy lifting as we have been doing in that ME cesspool of the world, all while we watch China and India take our jobs and economy, and our nation head towards 3rd world status.

What needs to be done is turning Iran and Israel loose on ISIS. It is a ME threat. Iran sees ISIS as an enemy. Israel surely has an interest in fighting ISIS. Fighting them together might create friends instead of the current tact of always creating dissent. Enemies do sometimes become allies.

iSIS is not as immediate a threat to Israel as Iran is. Obviously, if Israel attacks Iran unilaterally it will be without US assistance. If anything, I imagine the U.S. would be an impediment. Our intel is worthless. Iran and Israel as allies is a pipe dream. The mullahs would never permit it. So, I hope Israel attacks on its own, without approval of or assistance from the US. If they think their existence is threatened I have no doubt that they will do so.

In my growing cynicism of our policies and motives I’ve been wondering the same thing.

When we were the unmatched economic and manufacturing powerhouse of the world of the 50s and 60s and Europe and Japan were indebted to us, it made more sense to expend that wealth stabilizing the world. Yes we still have unmatched military power but not the economic power or financial wherewithal to back it up. The USA needs to focus inward by actually rebuilding our nation’s real economic power.. It won’t come by waging trillion dollar wars in the Middle East.....unless they are fought to defend our borders.

As a suggestions more conservatives need to read “The American Conservative” instead of simply following political elites and pundits that are sometimes of the same group think as a swarm of blackbirds preparing to alight on a power line

This one-

?

Thanks for the response. I really don’t understand how we ended up negotiating the Middle East’s and Europe’s problems.
Not saying that they won’t become our problems, but we should NOT be in charge yet.

The best thing that can happen is to let Iran get nukes ASAP. The longer they wait, the stronger our enemies and Israels enemies get. Then the time will come when Israel will not have the military superiority it enjoys now and then they won’t attack Iran with impunity.

Let Iran have nukes TODAY. because THEN.................... Iran would................ be gone TOMORROW.

“Phased” — it sounds so...harmless, so under control, so much like a plan, doesn’t it?

These idiots are going to go to bed one night thinking they’ve put the problem of Iran to rest without ever consulting Israel, and they’re going to wake up the next morning and read about Iran being annihilated and think they have some reason to be shocked...

Thanks, and neither do I. We need to make the USA powerful again and that will never happen when we borrow and borrow to defend and make others powerful.
