You are correct.
You don’t.
Mastering these things is liberating.

I know gals that are scared to drive a car.

Guns are tools, nothing more or less. If you don’t feel comfortable having one, then that’s fine.

Just consider that owning one could save your life and the life of a loved one. The rules for safety are logical and easy to remember. Imho, confidence comes with owning a gun and knowing how to use it.

It’s not the gun - always operator error.
Finger on the trigger? Operator error.
A complex set of events in short order must occur in order for a firearm to discharge.

A round in the chamber is the way to carry CCW - also makes you keenly aware of just what you have at your fingertips....no one will ever wait for you to chamber a round - it will be over that fast.

A Glock that consistently jams is trying to tell you something. Crappy ammo, limp wristing or the remote possibility a nasty or after market magazine.

As soon as we saw the thread Mr. GG2 and I both laughed and said Glock at the same time. Never fails.

I love Glocks and one is my primary home-defense handgun, but I would never issue them to rookie FBI agents or rookie cops. Issuing a Glock should be a conscious decision, to someone with substantial firearms experience and impeccable manners on the range and in the field, not an automatic step in hiring a law enforcement officer.

My instructor at the time drove us down 15 to the border, we headed off I think to the east. You could see the fence where we turned.

There was a 300’ launch close to the border before we drove up to the mountain launch. Second flight was to the west, clear the souther ridge and south to the same landing zone.

Now that you mention it I’m going to google earth it...

Logic counters all arguments to the contrary... I have met a retired cop (conservative) willing to help me... only prob...he doesn’t live close enough to make it e-z.

I just recall that Brown Field was a municipal airport out there.

I used to live on Otay Mesa.
