And how exactly do you make life difficult for someone that was brought here as a child, has lived here all his life, graduated from school here, and now runs a productive business, or has been working here his entire adult life? Send in regulators to harass him, perhaps, or some jack-booted thugs to threaten him? How?
And how do you do it while simultaneously convincing all of his Hispanic neighbors, many of them voting citizens, that you’re not a complete idiot and that they should continue to vote for you in upcoming elections?
Off the top of my head, require citizenship to be hired.
Of, course, you will object.
That is your right, and your first response because you want amnesty.
Big mistake. Even if we do finally sort all this out we will still have foreign employees in this country. The questions are how many and doing what?
You don’t want to give the Dems the opening to make them all citizens before people can hire them, because they’ll most certainly take you up on it.
So why don’t you sponsor one of these stateless waifs.
What do you think your Norseman ancestors would say to one of their descendants who allowed invaders to take over their country?
I think you the sword would be put to you.
Gibberish and double speak. If employers require valid citizenship how do we end up with foreign illegals working? Man what part of GTFO don't you understand?
Good answer Walker. Finally have someone that’s not afraid of the media. Rubio caves instantly.
Ok Walker is on the wrong side of the immigration issue. So the Walkerites are going to change 100,000,000 minds on the subject instead of one= Mr. Walkers. Man that is some heavy lifting.
Sitting on the pews at Rev Wrights church for 25 years and not listening to what was being said.
McCain could have beat Obama over the whole “reverend” Wright issue. Palin wanted to go for it, but McCain wouldn’t allow it to be mentioned. It was handed to him on a silver platter and he went nice and lost.
>>That is your right, and your first response because you want amnesty.<<
We’re going to get amnesty, regardless what I want, so my interest is in what kind of amnesty might be acceptable without driving the Hispanic vote to the Democrat column for the foreseeable future.
Governor Wilson’s support of Prop 187 in the mid 90’s resulted in California swinging from a GOP state to a solidly Democrat state ever since. We don’t need to make the same mistake on a national level.
If Muslims are so peace loving and wonderful as BO and the dems proclaim, why is he so afraid to admit that he is a Muslim?
Why don’t these people just apply for citizenship and do it the legal way? Is that just too much to ask?
Yeah, instead we invaded the U.S.....pretty peaceful invasion though, back then. We pretty much took over Wisconsin and Minnesota for a while there.
Most of them don’t want citizenship; they just want jobs.
The problem is that for too many years we’ve let them walk across the border without green cards, and that goes for both the Bush administration and the Obama administration.
I don’t like the situation any more than anyone else but it exists and we now have to find a sensible way to deal with it without turning the Hispanic voting population, i.e., those who are already citizens, into permanent Democrat voters for the foreseeable future. That’s just reality, and the candidates recognize that reality so not a single one of them is going to call for either a blanket deportation, or a situation that results in massive self-deportation.
Yer reely axin fur it, if’n ya axe me!!!
When I said “that will satisfy nearly every conservative.” I was thinking specifically of you, as you will never be satisfied with anything Walker has done or will do.
It's not complicated. Start by creating a real border. Cut off the freebees and start prosecuting document fraud...IE, identity theft. Enforce sanctions against those who illegally work and employ. Announce a new policy...those caught here illegally will never be eligible for any kind of legal status.
Deporting 20 million is a red herring and unnecessary.
I think cause and effect are maybe not clear for you.
