Scott Walker’s cowardice should disqualify him [angry they can't box him in]
The Washington Post ^ | February 20, 2015 | Dana Milbank

Posted on 02/20/2015 6:48:52 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

What Rudy Giuliani did this week was stupid.

What Scott Walker did ought to disqualify him as a serious presidential contender......

And Walker, just a few seats away, said . . . nothing. Asked the next morning on CNBC about Giuliani’s words, the presidential aspirant was spineless: “The mayor can speak for himself. I’m not going to comment on what the President thinks or not. He can speak for himself as well. I’ll tell you, I love America. There are plenty of people, Democrat, Republican, independent, and in between who love this country.”

But did he agree with Giuliani? “I’m in New York,” Walker demurred. “I’m used to people saying things that are aggressive out there.”...

You know what’s sad? There are probably a lot of FReepers who are mad that Walker didn’t take the bait...and for the exact same reasons as Milbank.

Look the left’s unfair attacks against Scott Walker are WRONG, but he’s not that conservative:

On immigration,

On Marriage

On Right-to-Work

I am curious why you’re advocating him??

I agree. He didn't repudiate what Giuliani said, he just didn't expound upon it. If he gives "full-throated support", the same ones who excoriated that guy for making an off-remark about rape will be excoriating walker for ruining his presidential chances by saying something stupid. There's a line to be walked, and he's trying to walk it, until he gets to the end. It's not like he's a member of the Congressional majority and actually doing things antithetical to conservatism, like they are.

Judging by your posting history, you really do hate Walker. The tone of some of you comments seems, to me, more in line with the “got-cha” crowd of pseudo-journalists than the Ted Cruz fan you hint that you are. “All Walker, all the time.”
Curious.

But to have a civilized debate, it’s necessary for public officials to disown such beyond-the-pale rhetoric. And Walker failed that fundamental test of leadership.

This is the MOST laughable and hypocritical thing I have seen in print in a long time from a liberal. When was the last time ANY democrat "disowned" comments about Republicans wanting dirty air and dirty water? Republicans want old people to die to save money on healthcare? Republicans want children to starve? AND these are from sitting politicians on the floor of the House and Senate. Juliani is now a pundit and Walker didn't comment one way or another and is "disqualified" for what he DIDN'T say?

The absurdity is rich. This ideologue should take his opinions, roll them up real tight and shove them straight up into his brains via the orifice on which he would normally sit. The hardest part for him will be wedging said opinions around his ears, which are obviously already firmly ensconced in said orifice.

GFY, Dana.

Rudy spoke truth. To power.

Leftists are supposed to love that.

Barry Soetoro is not American. He was not raised American, he does not think like an American, he has no loyalty to America, and he acts at every turn AGAINST America’s interests.

Barry Soetoro is an unintelligent, unaccomplished, ignorant, arrogant, resentful third-worlder.

(And note that I said NOTHING about where he was allegedly born.)

I really want to like Scott Walker.

I do like how he's not had his common sense educated out of him by an ivy league university and I respect what he's done in life and against all odds and opposition in Wisconsin.

If he ends up saying/doing the right things about Common Core-uption and about amnesty and sealing the border, I'll be very tempted to sign on with Team Walker.

That’s not a horrible answer by Walker, but wouldn’t “No, he loves the country so much that he wants to fundamentally transform it” have been simply delicious?

Scott called Rudy aggressive? Because he’s from New York? Not exactly full-throated support.

Walker played it perfectly. This flak posted here is proof he is directly over the target. Bombs away!

You didn’t say who you DO support.

Therefore, your comment goes into the garbage can.

TED CRUZ FOR PRESIDENT.

Dana Mindblank calls Rudy a nutter for stating the obvious about Obozo’s attitude toward America. The real nut-sack is the moron who looks at Obozo’s record and still thinks he loves this country. You could say he loves moslums or the anus of older white men with gray hair, but not America.

In a few months, they’ll be banging rail-to-rail between full-blown Walker Derangement Syndrome and Cruz Derangement Syndrome.

Walker is skating on some pretty thin ice here. First, he “punts” on a Creation question, and now he won’t be straight up and give an honest remark about Rudy’s Obama comments.

We need a candidate who will courageously and unapologetically stand up for conservative principles. At the very least, we need a candidate who is not afraid to “tell it like it is”. Walker is not that candidate.

I passionately dissagree. This is small ball stuff. This isn't policy position. This jabbering and fishing for quotes to take out of context. Remember when Romney was asked about birth control. WAR ON WOMEN!!!! I am more and more convinced that Walker is sharp and really has his eye on the ball. He played this perfectly. He didn't need to add a thing and Guliani's truth got out there no better or worse had Walker stepped in. Had Walker commented, the story would not have been about what Guliani said. Today it is and it's rich and delicious.

Walker is bullet smart and unafraid. He is confident, articulate and conservative. You should learn more about him. He and Cruz are at the top of my list right now.
