President Obama defended the “true peaceful nature of Islam” on Wednesday — saying terrorist groups like ISIS promote a “twisted interpretation of religion that is rejected by the overwhelming majority of the world’s Muslims.”
In an op-ed published in the Los Angeles Times, the commander-in-chief provided a possible preview of a speech later at a White House Summit on Countering Violent Extremism, in which community leaders from across the country gathered to discuss how to protect people from “extremist ideologies.”
“The world must continue to lift up the voices of Muslim clerics and scholars who teach the true peaceful nature of Islam,” Obama wrote.
“We can echo the testimonies of former extremists who know how terrorists betray Islam. We can help Muslim entrepreneurs and youths work with the private sector to develop social media tools to counter extremist narratives on the Internet.”
“This week, we’ll be joined by people of many faiths, including Muslim Americans who make extraordinary contributions to our country every day,” he added.
“It’s a reminder that America is successful because we welcome people of all faiths and backgrounds.”
The president once again refused to utter phrases such as “Islamic terrorism” or “Islamic extremist” — instead referring to ISIS militants as “individuals from various religions” who practice “hateful ideologies.”
“Our campaign to prevent people around the world from being radicalized to violence is ultimately a battle for hearts and minds,” Obama said.

In reality, you will find all the translations you might run into to be pretty good, and some will be better than the Saudi translations because the use of English is better, but the benefit of the Saudi ones is that you are insulated somewhat against the arguments of Moslems that you have a false translation. If it is false then it is what the Sauds want you to read and so falsity is immaterial. It’s what the main authorities want you to know. It is the Sauds, after all. For your own enlightenment any edition will do and the cheaper the better so you are not contributing to Jihadist funds so much. Second hand ones are best.
Is this is the strategy? Conservatives need to be all over this lazy thinking, um, lack of thinking. Obama is off his rocker and the left goes along with it.

Moslems do have it as their first duty to re-”organize communities.” They call it Jihad.
He isn’t saying anything that W didn’t about Islam.
The translations are basically honest. Moslems claim them all to be faulty or false because they are not in Arabic and that helps them lie to you about things. If you throw a citation at them they just say well that is false because it was not in Arabic. When Christian Arabs argue with them they are simply ignored because they do not get notice in the western media and they are regarded as Apostates and necessarily Liars even if they are exactly truthful because Apostates are Liars by definition.
We need to remember that there are at least TWO definitions of “peace.”
1. The absence of war or conflict. This is the one embraced by most free peoples of the world.
2. The absence of RESISTANCE to aggression, attack or policies, doctrines and ideologies with which one disagrees. This is the one held by most western liberals, communists (now called “progressives” and “Democrats”) and the islamofascists.
If the second definition prevails, it invariably leads to the third and final “peace” for the losers — that of the beheading sword, firing squad, bullet behind the ear, etc. and on to the graveyard or lime pit.
I actually know a few. They are Sufis (a very small sect), and they are persecuted as badly as Christians in Sunni and Shi’ite nations.

When confronted by one of those “All religions are the same” idiots just ask “Have you read the Torah? Have you read the New Testament? Have you read the Koran?” The answer is always “No.” Then you just say “Then you really do not know what you are talking about do you?” Shuts them right up, every time.

Sometimes they don’t shut up but their speech gets disjointed a bit. I have done that. Any more I try not to get into conversations with Moslems. It is futility. I used to try to be friends with Moslems who had shops near mine. They would drop in to talk and I reciprocated but after the 2nd or 3rd time the only topic possible was the necessity of my conversion to Islam. These were peaceable seeming guys. One of them even told me that when Islam really does come to America he would unfortunately probably have to kill me if I persisted in my error. I stopped talking to them and wouldn’t let them back into my shop.

I have a question for Dumb’O - if all these radical islamists are not really muslims, why does he provide the GITMO prisoners korans, prayer rugs, halal food etc.?
