Before a federal judge in Texas ruled President Barack Obamas executive amnesty unconstitutionaland ordered its implementation immediately haltedSenate Judiciary Committee subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest chairman Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) said such a ruling would mean Democrats must stop obstructing the passage of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding bill.
I think it would have a huge impact, Sessions told the Huffington Post last week about such a ruling. I would think it would be further proof that the president overreached and shouldnt be funded, and it would cause the Democrats to re-evaluate their obstruction.
Other conservatives, like Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS), echoed Sessions statement.
I think its a great opportunity for the Senate Democrats to actually allow our bill to move forward, Huelskamp said last week. There should be no concerns to them if the courts are saying this is not going to be implemented.
On Monday night, Judge Andrew S. Hanen of the federal district court in Brownsville, Texas, ruled that Obamas executive amnesty is unconstitutional and issued an injunction immediately halting its implementation.
The court finds that the governments failure to secure the border has exacerbated illegal immigration into this country, Hanen wrote in his opinion. Further, the record supports the finding that this lack of enforcement, combined with the countrys high rate of illegal immigration, significantly drains the states resources.

This wasn’t a decision on the merits, but the grant of an injunction prohibiting the administration from moving forward until the issue has been decided on the merits. The plaintiffs convinced the judge that there was a reasonable chance of success on the merits and that moving forward now would cause irreparable harm, which are required elements for the grant of an injunction. Since it was not a decision on the merits it will have no impact on the obstructionist Dims.
The Commie pink fag ‘Rats are drunk on the koolaid.
This will serve to let Mitch off the hook.
Kentucky should have replaced the weasel.
Its definitely a positive development,
Thank you! The premature, immature celebration is getting sickening. We can be reality-based without succumbing to fatalism. Obama is an unconstitutional traitor, but seeing how federal courts have been covering for him, I'm not optimistic over the ultimate outcome.
We replaced our weasel, Eric Cantor. Dave Brat has so far stayed the course on the Constitutional path.
(I didn’t need the /sarc tag, I’ve enjoyed your posts)
FYI
Excellent and clear explanation. Thanks.
Absolutely! A cigar and squad of bodyguards.
Liberals have no interest in truth. They have no honor. NO ruling will weaken their resolve to destroy the country they hate.
That can be reversed or modified at any time.
They didn't. Get over it. Focus on the positive for the future rather than throw more mud at the past. McConnell will be Majority Leader in the Senate for at least two years. It sure beats having Reid there.
How can we tell?
Kentucky should have replaced the weasel.
___
Believe me, we tried.
It will have no impact on them anyway. As you know the judge had to find that the plaintiffs are likely to prevail in the case. And they will with this judge. But I doubt his ruling will be upheld on appeal.
