Singer-songwriter Lesley Gore, who topped the charts in 1963 with her epic song of teenage angst, "It's My Party," and followed it up with the hits "Judy's Turn to Cry," ''You Don't Own Me" and the feminist anthem "You Don't Own Me," died Monday. She was 68.
Gore died of cancer at New York University Langone Medical Center in Manhattan, according to her partner of 33 years, Lois Sasson.

Yep, I remember Leslie in Batman. My brothers and sisters and I spent time in our basement doing two things. Playing Church with Mass and stuff and pretending we were the Beatles.
In 1980, WCBN-FM, the University of Michigan freeform student radio station, played "It's My Party" for 18 hours straight the day after Ronald Reagan was elected.

I’m 6 years younger than she and I don’t look too good either.
Most of those who look “fabulous” have had some work done. Some of us choose to age naturally and whatever happens, happens.
She was 16 when “It’s My Party” came out. Talk about overnight success.
Some folks are not aware of her lesbo status, you know.

I am also 68, the same age as her. Some of us did not age well but a few of my classmates look OK. We will have our 50th class reunion this year.
