Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come. There are factions in Christendom over whether the Jewish people are specially blessed in a separate plan or whether all the Jewish blessings have now been diverted to Christendom as the “new Judaism.”
I pay my money and take my choice on the former, a more straightforward reading of the scriptures and one that nicely explains why, on balance, Jews always seem to bring blessings to a country even though they end up frequently cursed themselves. Sometimes the curse is a Christianity that has gotten too large for its theological britches in the manner described above, but that’s still less bad of a foe to Jews than rank paganism and rank atheism.
