This is surrender and to a ruling that is not constitutional but the product of judges applying their personal feelings. There is no guarantee to marriage licensure in the Constitution and certainly nothing that would force states to have uniform marriage licensure. The judges in a reach could require that marriages be honored from other states but to order states to grant marriage licenses goes far beyond their power. What we have now is a lawless oligarchy where judges and the political class don’t even bother trying to go through the amendment process but instead amend by ruling. This needs to be stopped. What these judges deserve I can not say in a polite forum. They have made the slaughter of innocents, the state theft of property for the purpose of the enrichment of the state, executive overreach in matters of war and policy, and now the forced granting of marriage licenses for a union that is not marriage part of the constitution by fiat. Where will they stop now?
The fact the he wasn’t ousted speaks more of the actual real word irrelevance of the SBC to the Baptist churches. They really are little more than a common effort for missions and such, though they love to portray themselves as an ersatz Vatican.
Their main other thing is education of seminary students.
But make no mistake, they do not speak for the faith, therefore, you see no huge effort to take them over by normal old fashioned Baptists.
Does Russell Moore have a guy in mind that he’d like to marry? Inquiring minds want to know. The Southern Baptists have some serious house-cleaning to do.
I guess this phony Christian doesn’t agree with Peter in Acts 5:29: “We ought to obey God rather than men.”

That “render unto Caesar” is grossly misunderstood. It is nothing more than a Pharisee that was trying to trick Jesus into saying something seditious to get him arrested.
And Christ flipped the script on him and left him with egg on his face.
He asked, should I pay tribute to Caesar and showed him a coin?
Jesus asked who’s face was on the coin. The answer was Caesar. Jesus basically said, then it must belong to Caesar, give him what it his, and give God what is God’s.
It takes a lot of twisting and torturing to make that into a verse where Jesus is telling us to cooperate with the rules of a despot. Or, that we are to cooperate with government as a duty to God. Just as good of an argument can be made that giving God what belongs to God means Judge Moore should stay right there and resist with all his might.
I’ve asked that question to Christian men many times. I never get an honest answer.

Law? I don't recall Congress passing a law regarding homosexual 'marriage'.
The tyrants in black are merely forcing their unpopular mandates down the throats of an unwilling public, and in the process, destroying the very basis of our Constitutional protections and liberties.
Nowhere in this country's organizing document does it say that the federal courts have any jurisdiction over the subject of marriage.
But that's just the point. It's not Caesar's. Not under our Constitution.
The Southern Baptists should be on the side of Righteousness, not the state. Bravo to Judge Moore. Stand firm on the faith that God has given you and on the Constitution that He has give this Union of states.

I don’t see that happening int he SBC, that said until this guy is gone, I think we should withdraw support from the SBC.
A church that tells men to endorse sinful behavior is not the church of God. Just like a Judge who declares the existence of law not written in any words much less approved by the people is no litigate judge.
I’m all for rendering on to Caesar but this is not Caesar nor is it even taxation. This is about enforcement of amoral behavior clearly condemned by the bible. Futhermore Caesar (the constitution) did not even issue this order, some corrupt federal employees did, overthrowing that constitution in the process.

We are going to have to goat the lawless employees into more clear Constitutional condemable action using the same set of broadly unlimited reasons and lots of them before we rally the people to overturn their unbounded power.
