Frustrated Republicans taste limits of majority control

WASHINGTON (AP) — It wasn't supposed to be like this for Republicans. A month into their control of both chambers of Congress, they are confronting the very real possibility of a shutdown of the Homeland Security Department later this month.

Instead of advancing a conservative agenda and showing voters they can govern, the GOP has been unable to overcome Senate Democrats' stalling tactics in a dispute over immigration.

"I suppose elections have consequences except in the United States Senate," complained GOP Rep. Mick Mulvaney of South Carolina, summing up the frustration for many House Republicans. "Tell me how it would be different if Harry Reid were still running the place," he added, naming the Senate Democratic leader who was booted into the minority in November's midterm elections.

Although their party is now setting the floor schedule and calling hearings, Republicans are finding to their chagrin that important things haven't changed from when they were in the Senate minority...

Well then, Newt did a heck of a job selling the ‘contract with America’ to the voters because Slick Willy pretty much signed off on it and took credit for it of course.

Understood. But wouldn't the suspicious intellect in you think that he and McConnell might have talked about this? Who takes the blame this time?

These politicians are all about facades and trickery. Cloture Show Votes are one mechanism in the Senate, dispensation (allowing a struggling Representative to go against the majority when the Speaker is already assured of a Pyrrhic victory, etc.)

We've already seen what Boehner has done to those that voted against him for the Speakership. Why would his seeming to come through on this be reason to be for him. In my mind, at best he warrants a suspicious 'conditional' approval. :0)

LOCK-STEPPING PARTY LOYALTY NOT SEEN SINCE 1940'S-era EUROPE Obama's secret amnesty agenda includes unleashing the illegal alien Democrat vote.

Democrats buying votes w/ our tax dollars: illegals get SS payments, refunds of taxes already paid, more and more EITC refunds. The IRS director told Congress that even “if illegals did not file” taxes, as long as the illegal could demonstrate he worked off-the-books during those years.

Thus the universe of people eligible for the tax credit expands by millions. The IRS said only about 700,000 illegal immigrants currently work and pay taxes using an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, but as many as 4 million illegals could get a stay of deportation and work permits under Obama's temporary amnesty, which would mean they would be eligible to claim back-refunds if they worked those years.

DEMOCRATS COUNT THE VOTES:

<><> Obama's stopping deportation of illegals includes even violent felons w/ criminal convictions.....as long as they can vote.

<><> the Democrat vote expands geometrically--- via Obama's new "border security" plan, chain migration is expanded to allow illegals already here to bring underage children, adult children, grandchildren, even step-parents into the United States.

OBAMA GOVT THREATENS US CITIZENS: DHS Secy Jeh Johnson used his govt office to issue threats that would undermine US ntl security and endanger US citizens----Johnson said if Congress didn’t send President Obama the DHS funding bill that he wanted (rubber-stamping executive amnesty), federal grants allocated to local and state public safety agencies by law would not be delivered –.

Johnson apparently assumes he and Obama have the authority to nullify federal laws that don't serve their personal agenda.

=================================================

REFERENCE Sheriff Justin Smith, Larimer County Colorado's Facebook post responded to, what he considers, are "veiled threats" issued from the govt office of DHS' Jeh Johnson to all police chiefs and sheriffs around the country.

MEMO TO L/E UNDER DHS THREATS: Sheriff Justin Smith and nationwide L/E, police chiefs and sheriffs due federal grants need to act now:

The Bank Secrecy Act must be mobilized----to follow the paper trail and determine how DHS govt monies changes hands; to determine the scope and dimension of collusion in sub rosa deals (and who might be personally profiting).

<><> L/E needs to examine DHS and its related agencies' bank accounts.

<><> Joint bank accounts might be used to facilitate the transfer funds from one account to another, and/or wire- transferred offshore;

<><> To cover their tracks, DHS insiders might create fake invoices to show that govt money deposited into accounts was being used for legitimate and constitutional purposes.

<><> Financial schemes scheme might be advanced by issuing phony statements of payments from financial sources that actually covered the transfer of funds for insiders' personal use and/or for redistribution schemes.

It was over when both houses past the continuing resolution as their first act, bargaining chip gone, game over. The woulda, coulda, shouda, was to pass a piece at a time budget but that didn’t happen. Now all we have left is Kabuki theater. We all knew this would happen as soon as McConnell won his primary. Prepare yourself and your family to live in a Marxist, fascist, third world h#ll hole until the grand collapse.

Uniparty BS. There are not enough patriots to do anything.

Apparently there were enough so some could get the Moslem elected twice to destroy this country. Those were so patriotic they would not vote for McCain or Romney. Nor will they support the GOP in the PR war with Democrats. Nor will they vote for the Republican nominee if not their choosing, which Conservative candidate cannot even be agreed upon by said Conservatives. ~p> Perhaps they feel so discouraged and impotent that they have surrendered to the Moslem and to assuage their guilt turn to rend the GOP, being actual RINOs themselves, if even that. Virginia voted twice for Obama, who has fired a couple hundred or more senior officers and appointed enough judges to rule against the will of the people.

We're FOUR months into a a republican held congress. There ought to be repeal bills against anything Obama stacked head high on the Selfie in Chief's desk by now awaiting veto for record to be waved on the Capitol steps in front of cameras and DAILY Televised Congressional hearings on F&F/ IRS/Benghazi/DoD/GITMO/Illegal Immigration and Border Control...etc, ad nauseum reminding Americans every damned day that we are being ruled over by a group of petty leftist tyrants.

Instead, we get the usual lib media spin BS like this, which means the republicrats' aren't really interested in fighting back for the electorate that put them back into a position of power.

” You discover the limits of your power when somebody is able to come down on you and stop you, which they probably won’t.”

Obama has sure learned that lesson well. He’ll continue ruling by decree until someone stops him. And he’s doing it in the most arrogant way imaginable. The day after the Republicans won a landslide election he tells them he’s going to issue an EO on immigration and dares them to stop him.

The course forward must be twofold.....

The congress must proceed to pass what ever it wants and draw a veto

The congress or whomever, must camp on the steps of a judge that will issue injunction after injunction after injunction blocking a presidential memo or executive order until heard by the courts. Obama will be gone before decision is handed down.

I have come to believe that the action now is of low importance and all are waiting on the SCOTUS to debilitate Obamacare. Once that happens there is a new legislative ball game

It’s only the “nuclear” option when the Republicrats are behind the wheel.
When the Demoblicans are driving the MSM makes sure we know it us the “constitutional” option.

The One Ring: use it or lose it, GOP-e Whimps. Right now it’s not looking good for ‘Whigs, The Sequel” so mebbe you critters oughta just party like it’s 1855 and forget about pretending to be conservatives.
You Boners/Gowdys/Messers aren’t fooling any one any way no how.

What 6 Democrats are going to join the GOP to allow the bill through? That’s the problem. There isn’t yet a problem with the GOP members themselves not staying in line...but that’ll probably come when enough decide to cave in to the Democrats of this HS funding bill.

And threatening to not allow the Democrats to bring up anything they wish isn’t going to ban incentive...Reid was doing that to his own party last year to protect Obama from having to make decisions on whether or not to sign bills, so to them, the GOP blocking them would just be the status quo.

My bad. What I meant to convey is that the republican’t congress has had at least that amount of time to lay the groundwork and flood Obammie and his flying monkeys with roll back legislation the very day their session began. So, what have these whiny clowns been doing since November, besides crying over being blamed for everything like little b*tches?

No problema-—understand the frustration.

Rest assured-—Repubs will continue GOPeeing.

B/C that is the strategy that got them where they are now.

2016 looms....and GOPeeing is how they intend to win.

I don’t know why we even bother having elections in America anymore.

Democrats have felt this way since Obama was selected.
