Perry: US wants more than 'young, attractive' orator Obama

Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry said Thursday that voters have had enough of a "young, attractive" and inexperienced president and will be looking for a proven leader in 2016.

Perry, who is considering a second run for president, wrapped up a two-day trip to New Hampshire with a speech at the Strafford County Republican Committee's Lincoln Day Dinner. While he repeated his warning that GOP voters shouldn't nominate a "critic in chief," he had plenty of criticism for President Barack Obama, saying his lack of executive experience before becoming president has hurt him and that he hasn't picked up many management skills on the job. The nation is ready, he said, to move beyond "eight years of this years of this young, very attractive, amazing orator, junior U.S. senator."

He could be the dark horse not too many are talking about. And he could make a serious run. If he has one good debate and a few good primary showings, people will forget all about the fact that he forgot.

I’m at a loss to understand what Perry could bring to the office that his fellow Texan (Ted Cruz) or fellow governor (Scott Walker) couldn’t do at least ten times better.

You may be right. But I think out of those three, right now, Perry has more national recognition going for him than the others. That could change quickly and it’s just my gut feeling.

Outside of these forums, I don’t see many people talking about Cruz and/or Walker.

You know what Obama does with his spare time while Valerie is running his job for him?

He doodles. And he thinks he's pretty good at it. He actually thinks he is one of the world's best cartoonists.

Now he has a new toy beside his pad of paper, his pencil and his Blackberry.

This would’ve gotten 10-times the coverage if it was said by Katy Perry instead of Rick Perry.

He was using the same terminology the media uses to describe Obama. I would assume it is sarcasm.

Perry is another cheap labor importer. He has done nothing to stem the invasion. As a border state governor he could have been an important voice of the citizens sick of the dereliction by Fedzilla. Instead he has pandered to La Raza (The Race in English)

He’d bring 14 years’ experience as a chief executive who understands what drives a successful economy. I’m not suggesting he’s better than Cruz or Walker. I’m just responding to your statement about what he could offer. (I fully support Cruz.)

Governor Perry either decided he didn’t want or need the Conservative vote or wanted someone on his staff who wouldn’t hesitate to use dirty tricks against Conservatives or stab them in the back. Otherwise he would have never hired henry barbour.
