Madison police officer Eric Parker today turned himself in to face assault charges, following the severe injuries to an Indian citizen who was walking down the street outside his son's new home.

Chief Larry Muncey told a small press conference in Madison that he also recommended that Parker be fired for his use of force against a man who committed no crime, did not speak English and could not understand the commands.

From your FReepmail:
-
“We have been told over and again, even when I questioned instructors about specifics on the issue, that “we take care of our own” when explaining priorities of treatment.”
-
Like Ken H asked you earlier, “Who is ‘We’?”
If what you say is true you should have the balls to quit.

Is this a determined execution by police, in broad daylight?

I believe you are wrong.

Any time a cop gets shot, the reaction is many times greater than when just an ordinary citizen gets killed.

I remember a while back, a former cop out West killed some fellow officers. Cops began shooting at people all over the place before they finally got him.

So true, let me repeat it:

That is what it seems like to me, they are like regimented Borg, filled with simple instructions, don’t think, don’t analyze, don’t try to assess each individual and each individual situation, instead, assert total physical domination of every interaction and remove ALL personal risk.

That is why we can’t call them to diffuse situations and handle the drunk relative with the knife, or who is breaking up the furniture anymore, they won’t show up to diffuse the situation or talk someone down and help us out, instead their sole purpose is to show up and end it, which frequently means driving up, yelling a couple of commands, and then snuffing the problem person.

Damn, from the vid, the old guy took one hell of a hit face first into the ground, probably lucky he didn't break his neck the way he hit.

That was bad and totally needless.

Drugs must be involved somehow. The Libertarians are always telling me that all the abuses we see from law enforcement are the consequence of the "War on Drugs."

Cops ‘roided up? Mandatory ‘roid testing for cops in violent situations.

Look at his neck. Steroids.

Hmmm... maybe drugs WERE involved.

Another example of the militarization of police where the police see the public as enemies who need to be killed.

Of course. However, I've not heard of that with respect to Fire or EMS, which is the point of contention.

it can be argued that the Indian man was reaching for something or saying something that was disturbing...I'll give the cops a pass for being careful....

however, the body slam to the sidewalk was totally inappropriate....

and yes, in the not so distant pass, cops were our protectors, were respectful, and we were respectful back....

An article posted Wednesday said the old man had suffered spinal injuries and was paralyzed.

It’s heartbreaking to see this family have to suffer like this. That old man is now crippled and the family will have to take care of him and he will probably suffer pain for the remainder of his life.

They brought him from India in poverty to live a good life the grandson had created here in America. And now this happens. So sad.

It’s not about Alabama. It is about brutal police tactics being taught and used across the US. It all started with the attacks of 911 and new police terrorist training. It is like some of the police officers are trained in a mindset of being at war with Americans.

Police used to respect the elderly and be careful with them because they are easily injured. : (

Police in good towns are out of control. Its a shame. Does not matter. South north east or west. The blue line needs to be tied to the community or cut.

It was way out of line. The community will not stand for this type of behavior. Police chief and mayor know it.

I get that all the time despite the big utility company logo on the back of my safety vest as I’m doing my safety inspections. 99% of all cops just wave at me as they drive by, and the few that actually stop I’ve never had any problem with. In fact I have more problems with homeowners than with cops.

Yeah, that’s why fire fighters selflessly run into a burning buildings to save lives.

Case in point FDNY on 9/11.
