CAIRO -- Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi inked a deal Tuesday for Russia to build Egypt's first nuclear power plant.
That's big news for Cairo, but what really made this trip stand out was how famously the two leaders hit it off.
One local paper termed Putin "the hero of our time" while another called him "Egypt's V.I.P." And they were right about that.
Putin received a royal welcome, complete with honor guard and a chorus of children. Egypt quite literally rolled out the red carpet.

It’s just sad . If America had a real President instead of the treasonous POS currently infesting the White House , Sisi would be looking to America instead of a left over tyrant from Soviet days. Sisi is actually trying to reform Islam, an exercise in futility I believe but still the sign of a great man. Sisi knows Islamic evil must be tamed even if he does not realize some objects , by their very nature , can never be polished.
Obama, driving our allies away from us and into the arms of our rivals.
Egypt sees Putin old kgb Thug as far more trustworthy than obammy who keeps trying to enslave Egypt to the Muslim brothers terrorist murder gang. America loses again.
How would the various factions in Congress have reacted to Obama inking a deal with Egypt on nuclear power? Left, right, center??
That’s exactly what Obama has done and Putin thanks Obama profusely for doing so. I’ll bet Putin has been waiting for his whole career to get Russia back in with Egypt like it was before, under the former Soviet Union!
