The Southern Poverty Law Center has descended to the level of self-parody (though it has a lot of company on the left) with its posting of Dr. Ben Carson on its “extremist files” list. Dr. Carson, a world-renowned brain surgeon, has served as inspiration for generations of African-Americans, and was portrayed on screen by Cuba Gooding in the movie version of his autobiography Gifted Hands.
But to SPLC, desperate to find targets and keep the donations coming in to support the lavish salaries of its executives, apparently no convoluted reasoning is too bizarre.
Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson rapidly ascended as a far-right political star after publicly scolding President Obama, whom he sat a few feet away from, at a National Prayer Breakfast in February 2013. Carson’s reproach of Obama for his health care and tax policies went viral, unleashing a flood of adulation from right-wing media and hate groups. Carson’s own story as an “up by the bootstraps” black man reared in poverty translated into an inspiring, magnetic narrative that captured media attention. Soon he was appearing as the keynoter at a rash of right-wing and hate group gatherings, linking gays with pedophiles, comparing the U.S. to Nazi Germany and endorsing biblical economic practices for 21st century America. A movement to draft Carson as a presidential candidate took off in 2014, raising more than $7 million by June, according to its website. Carson has coyly declined to say whether he would run as a Republican or on a third-party ticket, but media interviews suggest that he is increasingly willing to run on some ticket.
Apparently, criticizing President Obama qualifies you as an extremist, in the SPLC's eyes. Or maybe it is opposing the redefinition of marriage that is the trigger.

This says much, much more about what a tool the SPLC has become than it does about Dr. Carson.
I’ve got the Southern Poverty Law Center on my extremist list right next to the Nazis, Communist Party USA, the Global Communists, the KKK, the Congressional Black Caucus, the NAACP, the Nation of Islam and the Black Panthers.

The SPLC is a nest of vipers. A friend worked for them many years ago. She quit because she though they were all certifiable. The head, Morris Dees has made a large fortune from it. We Alabamians apologize for this.

Unlike Dr. Carson, the SPLC has an established history of it’s hate inciting extremists to violence.
Specifically the SPLC inspired nutter who attempted mass murder at the FRC, deciding that he’d add insult to injury by leaving Chick-fil-A sandwiches on his murder victims.
Thankfully this bigot was stopped by a quick thinking security guard.

No matter what any sane person thinks about Dr. Carson politically this vile libel by the SPLC just proves what lying radical leftists they are.

I used to be able to read their publication for free, or for 10 cents a copy used, and SPLC is truly a hard core racist, hate organization.
If you haven’t read a lot of their own materials, then you don’t know just how bad they really are.

If you watch Darrell Waltrip’s keynote speech at the national prayer breakfast the other day, you see exactly that same behavior.
Everybody else is laughing and clapping and Barry is sitting there with his hands down with a look on his face as if someone had just tossed a dirty diaper in his lap.

SLC has been listing conservatives as “extremists.”
Because its a great fund-raising tool for Dee Morris.
It says even more about the size and scope of the forces the left (Read Marxists) have consolidated in their effort to destroy the freedoms and the international viability of the United States. This is not just a little localized speed bump it is part of an international blitzkrieg of Herculean proportions. It is not to be dismissed lightly.
That specific incident should be grounds for charging the SPLC based on the same precedent that the SPLC charged Neo Nazi Tom Metzger. No, I am not playing the moral equivalence game that Obama played at the National Prayer Breakfast. Both Morris Dees and Tom Metzger are heinous people, just the former with a veneer of “progressive respectability”.
