I miss the dignity you brought to the Oval Office, President Reagan.

Happy Birthday to the greatest President in my lifetime.

his win over Carter was absolutely stunning - I doubt anyone has had such a landslide before or after.

The Iranian hostage crisis resolution during the swearing in was dramatic enough in itself

I was in college then, & didn't fully appreciate his presidency until late in the first term.....Bush Sr was always a head scratcher - but I guess it was to shore up the centrist vote.

My all time favorite President

The greatest President in my lifetime, and arguably the third greatest in history. I rank only Washington and Jefferson ahead of him.

Lincoln has to settle for 4th place because Reagan won the Cold War against a far more formidable and dangerous foe with far less bloodshed.

Happy Birthday, Mr. President. Your class and leadership had a lot to do with my departure from the Democratic party after that disaster of a Carter presidency. I got to see what a real President was like. It’s just too bad that your Republican successors have never come close to your leadership.

What the hell happened?

The 80’s were the best years of my life.

A big part of that was having Ronald Reagan as my President.

Visited the Ronald Reagan Presidential Museum in Simi Valley, CA for the first time Wednesday of this week.
My wife and I have visited other Presidential Museums, the Eisenhower, Truman, Kennedy ... this one is the most impressive. The museum itself sits high above Simi Valley with sweeping views ... on a clear day looking west you can see the Pacific and the Channel Islands. We spent over three hours at the museum, one portion of the museum has Air Force One (from his era) displayed which you can walk thru ... if you haven't visited this museum put it on your to-do list you won't be disappointed.

I used to buy Jelly Bellies when Reagan was in office. I got them because he had them in the Oval Office ... :-) ...

And I liked the licorice ones, too! I’m going to get some Jelly Bellies today, to celebrate his birthday!

God bless Mrs. Reagan, he obviously loved her dearly. I imagine she misses him terribly.

DFU SONG: Do You Hear the People Sing (Happy Birthday, Ronald Reagan)
DFU SONG PARODIES | 2-2004 | Lyrics, Doug from Upland

From the archives, a birthday tribute to THE GIPPER.

MIDI - DO YOU HEAR THE PEOPLE SING
http://members.tripod.com/~UL_24601/LesMiserables/lm-midis.html
Every now and then we find that a great leader comes along
One who has greatness that we celebrate in poetry and song
He grew up in the Midwest and he had learned his lessons well
But how far he would go nobody could really tell

His accomplishments were growing but he’s not one who would boast
He learned that a man’s character is what is valued most
And he’s led his life with an honor that we can admire

Ronald Reagan we love you…and you are loved around the world
Thanks to your vision flags of freedom everywhere have been unfurled
We will all raise up our glass, here’s a salute from one and all
Long live your legacy – The Man Who Brought Down the Wall

There’s a natural right of men…that right is all men shall live free
Because freedom makes each person all the best that he can be
One president knew that much better than anyone else

Ronald Reagan we love you…and you are loved around the world
Thanks to your vision flags of freedom everywhere have been unfurled
We will all raise up our glass, here’s a salute from one and all
Long live your legacy – The Man Who Brought Down the Wall

Ronald Reagan we love you…and you are loved around the world
Thanks to your vision flags of freedom everywhere have been unfurled
We will all raise up our glass, here’s a salute from one and all
Long live your legacy – The Man Who Brought Down the Wall

You’re loved by all

Happy Birthday President Reagan!

Last weekend I got to go watch a band that parodies the 80’s (The Spazmatics), and for a while it felt like Reagan was still President. Sigh.

Others with the same birthday: Babe Ruth, Bob Marley, Axl Rose

I feel so privileged to have come of age during the time of Mr. Reagan’s presidency. Words cannot express my sorrow at “how far we’ve fallen” since those days. I worry for my children.

Rest in eternal peace, Mr. President. Thank you for you all you accomplished! (and say hello to the Iron Lady for me!)
