Obama: 'People Committed Terrible Deeds In The Name Of Christ'

President Barack Obama wants Christians to know Islam is not the only religion that has inspired violence and terror.

"Unless we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the crusades and the inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ," Obama said Wednesday. "And in our home country, slavery, and Jim Crow, all too often was justified in the name of Christ."

Obama made the comments while giving a major speech on religion at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington. Citing Islamic, Jewish, and Christian scripture, Obama touted his own faith.

"This prayer tradition has brought us together, giving us the opportunity to come together in humility before the Almighty and to be reminded of what it is that we share as children of God. And certainly for me this is always a chance to reflect on my own faith journey," he said. "No matter the challenge He has been there for all of us. He certainly strengthened me through the power of his spirit."

Obama understands nothing, Yes, some evil acts were done in the name of Christ. However, those who did them were going against the teachings of Jesus. When Muslims commit atrocities they are dutifully following the teachings of their “prophet”.

Mr. Obama, cite what wrongs did Christians do in the name of Christ?

What happened in Medieval Europe was completely justified under the Church’s “just war” theory.

The Seljuk Turks were the ISIS of their day. They were rampaging across independent (Christian) lands, raping, murdering and forcing conversions. They had been at War with Orthodox Byzantium for a century already, and had won enough victories they were becoming a threat to Western Europe.

Clearly this idiot has no idea what precipitated the Crusades in the first place

The difference is that Christianity grew out of it hundreds of years ago while terrorism in the name of Allah continues daily with the tacit approval of the vast majority of Muslims.

I despise this guy. How utterly pathetic! Muslims go about the world destroying everything in their path and our clown in chief says, “Yeah, but they did stuff too way back when!”

Obama: 'People Committed Terrible Deeds In The Name Of Christ'

What in the hell has that got to do with here and now?

This mealy-mouthed bastard is a Muslim running interenece for his Muslim brothers and a vast number of Americans keep asking, "why doesn't he do something?"

Question answered.

This is who the man is.

Its impossible for him to speak from the heart and not insult Americans and Christians.

He doesn't understand that setting a false equivalency between ISIS and the Crusades is despicable.

Its just who he is; he hates this country.

“committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ”

They committed terrible deeds in his NAME, but weren’t following Christ’s example.

If I claim to be a pacifist, then run around smashing strangers on the street in the face with a shovel, obviously I’m not following the tenets of pacifism.

On the other hand, Muslims like ISIS ARE following Mohammed’s example in starting wars, murdering unarmed prisoners of war, and enslaving women and children.

Obama made the comments while giving a major speech on religion at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington. Citing Islamic, Jewish, and Christian scripture, Obama touted his own faith.

And what, pray tell, is that? A 'faith' based on Marxism, a hatred of America and Christianity? What exactly are the tenants of Obama's 'Faith'. Other than Obama is the godhead of whatever 'Faith' he espouses...

And how many times, in the last 6 years, has he attended a christian church with his family?

My understanding is that the Crusades were, for the most part, a defensive measure to stop the same type of Islamic aggression and expansion that is happening now.

"Unless we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the crusades and the inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ,"

This covert agent who pretends to be our legitimate president MUST be impeached. He hates America and his hatred shows in everything he does. Nothing he has done is good for America.

I have made this point multiple times to people who throw out the old saw of “more people have died in the name of religion than anything.” Throw right back the numbers of dead under Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot and it shuts them up right quick.

“..... Obama wants Christians to know Islam is not the only religion that has inspired violence and terror”.

Note to odumbo, We are now in the 21st century and such violence is no longer acceptable. Time for the muzzies to get up to modern day acceptability's.

The Koran is replete with very specific prescriptions for torturing and killing non-Muslims; nowhere in the Bible is anyone exhorted to go forth and slaughter non-believers. Those who committed atrocities in the name of Christianity perverted holy scripture; Islamists can justify their actions with Mohammed’s exhortations.

Obama’s comparisons - especially at a national prayer breakfast - are an outrage.

It's all the same according to Obama. One big moral equivalent that allows him and his type to commit any evil and have some lame guilt trip excuse for themselves. “yeah, they burned a man alive a few weeks ago, but a few hundred years ago white Christians _____________ (fill in the blank)

Or, “he might have roughed up the clerk and tried to kill a police officer but 40 years ago I was pulled over by a cop’ etc....

Who are we to object to a man being burned alive? How dare we object to that horror? Only those who are perfect can object... and since no one's perfect we should shut up about a radical islamic groups that burned a man to death while he was alive.

Is that it Obama, you want us to shut up? While YOU and Holder pity party about being pulled over by a cop? Gimme a break. Sometimes it feels like we're dealing with a criminal - not a President of the United States... or a ten year old who's telling Mommy that 'everyone does it'....
