Jeb Bush: We will lose our liberties if we control the border
americanthinker.com ^ | 2/5/15 | Pedro Gonzalez

Jeb Bush made a series of astonishing remarks about immigration Wednesday. Actually, his comments were not so much about immigration as they were about illegal aliens.

First he said he wanted to repopulate Detroit with illegal aliens.

It just seems to me that maybe if you open up our doors in a fair way and unleashed the spirit of peoples' hard work, Detroit could become in really short order, one of the great American cities again," Bush said then. "Now it would look different, it wouldn't be Polish...But it would be just as powerful, just as exciting, just as dynamic. And that's what immigration does and to be fearful of this, it just seems bizarre to me.

Now, if we were talking about legal immigration, I would probably agree. But I think you and I both know whom Jeb was talking about "opening the doors" for. Illegal aliens are already roosting in our inner cities in the millions. Jeb simply wants to accelerate the process. But wait, there's more.

He said, during a discussion with Univision, that it was "ridiculous" to think that DREAMers, children brought to the U.S. by their parents illegally, shouldn't have an "accelerated path" to citizenship.

"I've never felt like the sins of the parents should be ascribed to the children, you know," Bush said in 2013. "If your children always have to pay the price for adults decisions they make — how fair is that? For people who have no country to go back to — which are many of the DREAMers — it's ridiculous to think that there shouldn't be some accelerated path to citizenship."

"it's not possible in a free country to completely control the border without us losing our freedoms and liberties."

Translation: "We" (the people who matter) will lose "our liberties" to take liberty with everybody else.

And I think they’d be alot more apt to go back to Mexico if it was a state in the US. They want what we have, fine, you can have it and we’ll take what you have in return.

How about a compromise, we let everybody out who wants out. But to get in they need permission

Yes, you and I have significently different opinions about making Mexico one of the United States of America.

Sure, and if France still had Algeria, they’d have absolutely no problem with Muslims because they’d all go home. Are you sure you thought this one through much?

Honestly, I haven’t thought it through at all. I just thought of it today.

I do know our government has no intention of shutting down the border. Cruz is probably the only one that would and the chances of him being our candidate are not that great. Everyone of the rest of them are pretty well open borders types. Might as well get something out of the deal (more oil, tourism and long growing season for vegetables)

I would say, without equivocating, that the native-born Detroiters are the root cause of the city becoming something like a Haitian nightmare.

To join a gaggle of more idiots who speak a form of Spanish to these losers is just asking for something much worse than today’s metropolitan Detroit.

I can’t fathom an Republican candidate saying the things Jeb Bush is saying and hope to win. He clearly has no intentions of winning a general election so why do this?

Is he a Hillary supporter in male drag? Who is he trying to buy off, please or placate with one idiotic comment after another? Is he hoping to drag the Republican party even further left to the point they are useless and the party splits? They are about there now. Do the liberals that rule the Republican party want to force the split up of the party and some conservative boot-lickers just won’t leave after being b*tch slapped election after election and they come back for more?

” Finally, elections are stolen via voter fraud and conservatives have done little about it.

If you take a sapling and bend it, and keep it bent, it’ll grow like that. When it becomes a tree it’s impossible to straighten out. America is that tree. What’s the use?”

That’s why God gave us chainsaws.

Bush thinks he can resurrect a city with no jobs by adding immigrants to the mix? Has this guy always been in government because he is clueless on the most basic level of economics.

He is another traitor, in bed with terrorists, saying we are just as bad as illegals.

I think he suffers from liberalism.

you cannot be a Common core fanatic without being a closet communist somewhere.

So basically he’s saying that the native-born Americans that currently populate Detroit are not capable?

There's a certain wing of the GOP establishment that's utterly convinced that Mexican illegals are practically superhuman, and that if we just let more of them in they'll work wonders for American society and our economy - creating jobs and social order all in a single bound (Pat Buchanan memorably called this "the myth of the redemptive Hispanic"). You'd think that these saintly superhumans would have already accomplished this in Mexico if it were true.

The more "realist" version of this argument is "they do the work Americans won't do." Which is completely idiotic, considering that our highest level of official unemployment (looking for work, can't find it) is among low and semi-skilled workers, the very ones who compete with illegals.
