“Any mistake is way cheaper than a lawsuit or a closed business. These days, with so many ridiculous premeditated law suits, owners should be prepared to protect themselves.”
Given WHY they didn’t want to serve them lying about it just wouldn’t fly.

This is what I’ve been wondering too. It’s my understanding that the business has since closed. Maybe it wasn’t a corporation, which would be a mistake for any bakery.

Right. How about I have a store and I say the only product I sell are Judeo-Christian wedding cakes? These cakes come with a one-bride-one-groom caketopper, the names of the bride and groom, and a biblical phrase of MY choice written in icing around the outside of the largest layer of the cake.
And let’s just say that for any marriages that are of a certain type, I always choose a verse from Leviticus.
That is the cake I sell to everyone, no discrimination here, take it or leave it, as is.

Uh...”We reserve the right....”????? No one forced the faggots and degenerates to visit that shop; I would bet my bottom dollar there are homosexual shops in the area that would gladly service their requests.

They chose not to provide a service based on a behavior not based on race, sex, religion, ethnicity (which is illegal). A lawyer doesnt have to represent clients that engage in activities that he finds morally repugnant (behavior) a plumber or electrician can make the same choice. A restaurant may refuse to deliver pizza to an abortion clinic or may refuse to let patrons bring alcohol to drink with dinner even if the restaurants motivation is moral disapproval (behavior). Businesses impose dress codes on patrons and refuse to allow patrons who wear T-shirts containing messages that they see as repugnant (behavior). Refusing service based on behavior is not illegal.
Obama hopes to have all those rights (to refuse service) illegal before he leaves office. The left have their judges in place to fundamentally change this country to be the nirvana they always hoped for. Change the judges to true constitutionist and you change the country.

Correct.
Lawyers may refuse to represent clients whose case does not appeal to them.
Advertising and PR firms may refuse clients whose ideas, policies, products, or business practices are offensive to them. (For example, a liberal firm might reject a client in the oil industry.)
An artist may refuse a commission for a cause he does not support. (For example, a pacifistic sculptor might refuse a commission to design a war memorial.)
A Muslim caterer might refuse a client who wants pork products or alcoholic beverages to be served at an event.)
A store owner might refuse to deal with products that are manufactured under conditions that the owner opposes (e.g., non-union products).
An entertainer might refuse to perform at an event for a political party he does not support.
In other words, it is COMMON for businesses of many kinds to reject dealing with certain customers or clients for moral reasons.

For many years, the Seattle Times has refused to accept ads for x-rated movies and for “escort” services. They do this because they apparently have a moral objection to these things. Yet they insist adamantly that Christian bakers and florists do not have the same rights of conscience that they have.

I was just thinking - I believe supermarkets have wedding cakes - yes? - probably special order, of course.
No need to support Mom and Pop - or Pop and Pop - bakeries.
Did these bakeries go out with high-button shoes?
Altho I loved getting my kid’s cakes at one here years ago.
And there’s home bakers who bake custom cakes.
Oh gee gosh - remembered - there IS a bakery in my city with guys at the helm - they are fabulous cakes - and expensive.

I bet the judge is a carpet muncher The administrative law judge is one Alan McCollough, evidently a father of three and a "flute player" who lives in Eugene, OR.

My question is why does the LGTB group think this is some sort of “positive”. Sure, they could use this example to force, coerce or threaten people to do what they want, and those people may comply because they simply cannot afford to lose their business and their livelihood, but it does not mean they now accept the behavior, or are somehow “on their side”. Just the opposite; I would think this creates resentment and perhaps even anger, not some sort of magical understanding and acceptance.

found guilty...Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries Still trying to find out if an actual trial happened or if it's just some government agency that made the determination.
Even corporations get jury trials in civil cases if they request them.

Oregon Nazis find Christians guilty.
Not surprised. Maybe conservative blue states can band together and refuse to recognize Oregon Nazi driver’s licenses.

My point is: Those bakers being fined for not baking a cake. They’re a private company/business ...where does the government get off saying who you have to deal with?
